Hello friends 👋 Life and our day jobs have been incredibly busy for us lately and we’ve finally admitted to ourselves that, as much as we want to, we can’t do all the things. So we’ve made the bitter-sweet decision to say farewell to Drifter (or maybe see you later—you never know) to focus on our other creative venture, @flawk Drifter has stocked our online shelves and discounted everything (discounts reflected in cart). But more importantly, we want to thank you all for your support and love over the years. We’ve learned so much on this endeavor and enjoyed sharing it with all of you. ✨Dropping some one of a kind adornments on November 26th for Small Business Saturday. ✨ For those of you that don’t know, we’ve also (very slowly) been working on a jewelry brand. But along the way, we got inspired to make some pieces for Drifter. This one features rosewood + rose gold + sterling silver.

Today’s Maker Friend Monday is about two friends of mine — the Austin-based, husband and wife team of @flawk AND @drifter_incense . The wife half of this team and I go waaaaaay back. Like over 15 years, I think! Almost 20?😱 We used to work at a popular (no longer there) music & video store in @downtownstatecollege . Working in advertising and living in Seattle is when she met her soon-to-be hubby. I got to meet him during my first business trip there and I knew he was my kind of people when he suggested that he and I go grab some “meat pies” while she was still working (she’s also a vegetarian😜). Come on, meat pies. No need to say more. They also happen to be the humans belonging to my furry love, @misadventuresofmrbastian , whom you’ve probably spotted in my feed. I was even in their wedding! The hubby half has been interested in gemstones for so long and working with his hands for a living. Add her creativity to his, and something magical was created. They’d started @flawk , stunning handmade wooden & gemstone jewelry, before they moved to TX. The pieces scream them, IMO. Scroll the feed to see the rings, too!😍 Everything is GORGEOUS! @drifter_incense is their newest venture. Hand-rolled incense cones and concrete burners. The coloring of their concrete pieces is so stunning and each piece is unique. They recently joined the Austin market scene and I was sooooo stoked to see that! Check ‘em out!
