Halo: Combat Devolved is a fan-made “demake” of Halo: Combat Evolved for the 8-bit Game Boy Color, created by SofaSwordsman and Crusader Games using GB Studio. It features 2D, top-down, or side-scrolling gameplay with 8-bit audio, covering the first two levels of the original game, including combat against the Covenant, drivable Warthogs, and health packs. As of late 2023, the game features at least two completed levels (“The Pillar of Autumn” and a second level featuring Jackals). It stays true to the original level layouts while adapting them for the limited screen size and color palette of the GBC.

6 Years...
6 years ago, during Covid-19, a few friends decided to make the most of it, and start playing halo again. What started as 4 friends nostalgic over halo blossomed into a community of nearly 200 members.
