Technically, weâve been âsoft openâ since February, which means weâve been busy behind the scenes decorating the space, growing and training our team, and learning the rhythm of the neighborhood â figuring out the busiest hours and how much to bake each day so we can keep things fresh while minimizing waste.
While weâll always be learning, tweaking, and growing⌠weâve gotten so much better at it, and weâre finally ready to celebrate with all of you!
So weâre officially throwing the doors open and welcoming as many of you as we can. đĽ

What a ride this has been. Five years ago I built a tiny take-out window onto our production facility in the middle of nowhere⌠and somehow that turned into me becoming my own contractor, project manager, and designer â all while still running daily operations. đŤ
I truly cannot believe this dream is standing right in front of me. It took a village.
To our incredible team who has worked their buns off every single day through this transition⌠to my new business partners who swooped in and helped make this whole thing actually happen⌠and to my amazing husband who holds me every night and tells me heâs proud of me â thank you.
This journey has been amazing⌠and really hard. And weâre just getting started.
We do still have a few kinks to work out, so please be patient with us. Our current gas line isnât strong enough to power all of our ovens yet, so production is limited while we figure out what we can manage with one oven and how that affects daily volume and hours.
For now, weâre hoping to start with:ďż˝TuesâFri: 10amâ3pmďż˝Saturday: 10amâ2pm
But please keep your eyes here â we may need to shift things slightly as we settle in and learn the flow of this new space.

Great news for those who are gluten-free! Flakely Gluten Free's first brick-and-mortar storefront is opening in Bryn Mawr at 9 a.m. on February 13. Pastry chef Lila Colello, known for her pastry ATMs popping up around the area, will now have a permanent place to call home to whip up her delicious treats. â

FLAKELY STUFFING RECIPE COMING AT CHA! My gift to you if youâre looking to make your own this year! â¤ď¸
Of course you could try this any store bought, National brand name whatever bread⌠but Iâve only tried this with our Challah and Artisan White Loaf bread and both worked fabulously. 1 Flakely Challah or 1 White Artisan Loaf Breads (about 6 cups of bread cubes)
* ž cup butter
* 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
* 4 sticks celery, thinly sliced
* 1 ½ teaspoons dried thyme leaves
* ½ teaspoon ground sage
* ½ teaspoon rosemary
* 1 teaspoon salt
* ½ teaspoon pepper
* 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
* 1/4 cup of dried cranberries (optional)
Â
Instructions:
Let bread slices defrost at room temp for 1 to 2 hours, then cut into 1-inch cubes. You can also pop these in the toaster or air fryer to dehydrate a bit from frozen. Either way- dry out/ toast the bread in an oven for about 10 min at 350 then set aside.
1.       In a large boiling pot or nonstick skillet, over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and celery and cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
2.       Stir in thyme, sage, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
3.       Add bread cubes and mix until evenly coated.
4.       Drizzle broth over the bread mixture and toss until well mixed.
5.       bake in a greased 2.5 qrt casserole dish at 350°F (180°C) for 35 to 45 minutes.

We celebrate Aranâs new book, The Art of Gluten Free Bread with a full GF High Tea spread, baked by Chef Lila from @flakelygf , finished with a little High Street flair. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared stories, sweets and laughs with us.
PHILLYâS MOST INSANE GLUTEN FREE BAKERY. My first @flakelygf treat was back in 2022, one of their gluten free pop tarts, then sold at La Colombe, and I was instantly hooked. Since then, Chef Lila has built a truly special business: a 100% gluten free pastry ATM in South Philly, a main bakery + pickup window in Manayunk, and (coming soon!) their first-ever brick and mortar cafĂŠ.
So⌠what to get? Honestly, there are no bad bites (I tried nearly one of everything), but my standouts were the everything bagel (insanely good), the pumpkin danish (also incredible), and I found the croissant to be really nice as well.â¨
That night, I did a taste test with my gluten-eating fiancĂŠ, soon-to-be sister-in-law, and her husband (three gluten eaters) and the three of them picked the Twix cookies and cake as their favorites.
Flakely might be a bit out from central Philly, but trust me, itâs absolutely worth the trip to see why this is one of the USâ best gluten free bakeries.

After years of dealing with a very hard to find, and extremely remote location and TONS of building issues weâre getting a bit of a glow up. Our remote location was the reason for our âeverything is sold frozenâ business model- because weâre never sure if weâll have a huge line or maybe a few people stop byâŚthat way we never have waste.
Weâre exploring options to fund this big step in our growth, and If anyone is interested in talking about a potential low interest loan or becoming an equity partner to help us⌠feel free to reach out! â¤ď¸
Weâre also looking at options to move one of our Pastry ATMâs into Manayunk in order to continue to serve the community that we love! If anyone knows of small businesses that might be open to becoming a new host- let me know too!
