Join us for Youth Mental Health First Aid: a skills-based training that teaches parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors and health and human services workers and any other citizen how to identify, understand and respond to an adolescent (ages 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge. Mental Health First Aid training gives you the skills to act. You’ll be able to spot the signs that someone might be struggling and use proven strategies to help them. It's Teen Day! High school students from across the state have joined us at the Florida Capitol to learn more about state government and what they can do to make their voices heard. 📢 And a big thank you to FSU's Corey Fuller for coming out to speak!
We are also celebrating Out-of-School Time (OST) Advocacy Day at the Capitol! This event is meant to bring awareness among lawmakers of the value and importance of afterschool and summer programming for Florida’s youth and to connect them with key players in the OST field.
We're so glad to be celebrating Children's Week to shine a light on the importance of building brighter futures for the next generation. 🌟
