When Flynn Chisholm leapt from a scenic cliff top in Majorca last week, it took him less than three seconds to achieve what no other Kiwi had.
The 40m “death dive” sent him face down into the Balearic Sea and headfirst into the high diving record books.
Flynn joined Herald NOW to tell us what it takes to do a record breaking dive.
New Zealand Record🏆 4,110 Pull Ups, 14hrs 25min
Definitely took a lot of me, I wanted to go the full 24hrs but I had immense pain in my arms. Very grateful to be in the position to go for a record. Must thank God for giving the strength and capability for the challenge.
Big thanks to my Dad, Mum, Hannah, Toby, Gigi, Rob for supporting me the whole way through it. Had heaps of mates come in which gave me waves of support.
Big thanks to @reboot_mountmaunganui for hosting the challenge, thanks @profiles_collective for promoting and being heavily involved with the event
I did two extra reps with 10 minutes remaining and didn’t get the photo with the board so that’s why it says 4,108
Death Diving!? He jumps off 40-metre cliffs for fun. He's 21. And he's got the New Zealand record.
Flynn Chisholm - aka @fizzysends - sat down with me to talk death diving, broken eardrums, coughing up blood, and why he's more scared of becoming arrogant than hitting the water wrong.

Mt Ruapehu📍
Appreciate the boys taking me up, without @kieran_death , @ciaran.russo and @conor.explores I would probs still be on the mountain 😂
First time in this environment, exposure was crazy but craving more. How good is Gods creation.
