The Toronto International Film Festival — one of the world’s biggest celebrations of cinema — kicks off next Thursday, September 4, and runs until September 14. We couldn’t be more excited to be heading there! To start the countdown, we’re sharing the trailer for Suburbicon, which screened at TIFF in 2017 and was one of the first major projects FixFx worked on. Looking back, we’re amazed at how far we’ve come in the seven years since.

Sometimes the perfect take doesn’t happen all at once. That’s where split-screen compositing comes in.
In these shots, we’ve seamlessly stitched together different performances to tell the story the way it was meant to be seen. Maybe a background actor needed to look up instead of down. Maybe the timing between characters didn’t quite sync. Maybe two brilliant takes happened separately.
By blending them into one frame, we create a version that feels natural, cohesive, and invisible.
You won’t notice the joins, and that’s the point. What you do notice is the story flowing exactly as the director envisioned.
