When we started Five Corners Beverage Co., we didn’t have a printer. That meant if we wanted to start selling online we would have had to buy one. Amazingly, in addition to providing safe and inviting spaces all across the city, full of books and programming for all, the @chicagopubliclibrary offers 10 free pages of printing a day to anyone with a library card. We literally printed out shipping labels and marketing materials for months before we finally felt like we had earned the business to buy a printer. While we don’t go in to print everyday anymore, we remain heavy users and lovers of the Chicago Public Libraries - and libraries everywhere - and will always be grateful for their role in our story.

There’s a new product launch this month in the nonalcoholic beverage space and this is some of the most excitement I’ve felt over a new launch in a long time.
@fivecornersbev out of Chicago is releasing their third product in their line of nonalcoholic ready-to-drink canned cocktails. Their first two products were pretty unique, so it makes sense that their new launch flys in the face of normal nonalcoholic options.
Introducing… the Pickleback!! 🥒
This one uses dill brine, cucumber, and celery to concoct what is now one of my favorite drinks of 2026.
Pickle-flavored beverages aren’t new of course, but they aren’t exactly common. This one manages to set itself apart by dialing in an even balance of salt and veggies with a touch of herbaceous brine. You know you’re drinking a dill-pickled flavor beverage, but the celery adds an element of intrigue and a reminder that this isn’t just sparkling pickle juice.
