As Washington recognizes #infrastructureweek hosted by #United4Infra, weâre highlighting how researchers at @fiu_cec are helping shape the future of resilient infrastructure through the groundbreaking Wall of Wind. đŞď¸âď¸
The Wall of Wind is one of the worldâs largest and most powerful university-based hurricane facilities, capable of simulating Category 5 hurricane conditions. Researchers use it to test buildings, materials, and technologies designed to better protect communities from extreme weather. We would like to thank the @nsfgov and @noaa for their continued support of this important research. #Infrastructureweek #FIUExtreme #FIUResilience
FIU was proudly represented at the @thechli Gala on Wednesday evening! We celebrated with our recent CHLI Global Leaders alongside FIU alumni who were present for the celebration.
FIU had a strong presence throughout the evening, and while we couldnât capture a photo with everyone, we definitely celebrated in style and enjoyed reconnecting, catching up, and honoring the incredible work and impact of our @FIUalumni in DC are doing. And of course, the friends of FIU are just as special to us â because the Panther family always has room for more at the table.

Yesterday, we started out strong with two incredible FIU Fly-In experiences in Washington, D.C. @fiustx
đš Student Experiences â Money, Policy, and Power: A DC Civic Engagement Experience
đš America 250: Jewish & Jewry â Past, Present, and Future
Students spent the day engaging with leaders, researchers, and institutions shaping conversations on policy, history, leadership, democracy, and civic engagement. From discussions with the @adl_national Anti-Defamation League and the @catoinstitute to visits across some of DCâs most impactful institutions, our students are experiencing firsthand what it means to learn beyond the classroom. @holocaustmuseum@advancethedream and some ending the night at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center
This is what FIU in DC is all about â creating opportunities for students to connect ideas with action and engage directly with the people and places influencing our future.
Excited for what the rest of the week will bring

Two days at FIU in DC that really put things into perspective đşđ¸
We kicked off with Transition in Cuba: The Miami Perspective featuring @rosamariapaya and @jorgeaplasencia , moderated by Sebastian Arcos. A real conversation on what a future Cuba could look like and whatâs actually at stake. Also some words by @john.suarez1989 from the @centerforfreecuba
Then, the Roll Call of Nations ceremony hosted by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation brought together global voices to honor over 100 million victims of communism.
And to wrap it up, a more personal moment with leadership during a brunch at FIU in DC.
Back to back days like this⌠this is what being in DC is all about.
