wrote this song a hell of a while ago, in a squat that me and Pats were inhabiting during Covid, when I think back about it, it was definitely intended to be an angry song, I was listening to a lot of John Copper Clark & Lead Belly recitals and reading fairy tales and fantasizing about releasing my own music into the world and all the BLM stuff was kicking off and there were mad protests happening, and I was scared . We recorded a live at the time of it but it disappeared somewhere into the digital ether. Now with the shape of the world the irony isn’t lost on me that it’s Taken on a brand new meaning.
