📢 ANNOUNCING: The Irish Premiere of REFUGE by Deirdre Kinahan 📢
Fishamble: The New Play Company and Staatstheater Mainz in Germany, in association with Pavilion Theatre and Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable present the Irish Premiere of REFUGE by Deirdre Kinahan.
Following on from our World Premiere run in Mainz in June, this Autumn, we will be taking REFUGE to Dublin Theatre Festival for the Irish Premiere as well as Lime Tree Theatre | Belltable for a run of very special performances in the county the play is set.
“Why are you here?”
A community flees persecution in Germany and is offered land in Ireland that should never have been given.
1710, Rathkeale, County Limerick.
Refuge traces their journey and explores the enduring connections between displaced communities of the past and those seeking safety today.
It is a thrilling new play that weaves past, present and future: music and magic. Stories of longing, love and loss tear at the human need to find a place, a home, a refuge.

We were thrilled to welcome @lorcanstrain and @karimtamulol to Larkin Community College today for the final Fireside Chat of this years WHO AM I? / HOW AM I? Project 💫
Willow Mae and Kayla interviewed Lórcan about their life as a non-binary artist from Donegal and the importance of the communities that we belong to.
Rihanna and Aiym interviewed Karim about what it means to be a multidisciplinary artist and about his life as someone who balances work as a pharmacist with being a musician and a pro wrestler.
We were also thrilled to have @fionaohneill back in the room with us for a graphics harvesting session - pulling out and illustrating some of the most inspiring quotes from the session.

We were all so delighted to attend the launch of Colin Murphy’s Political Plays yesterday evening at the @trinitylongroomhub 📖
With Fishamble, Colin has written a series of political documentary dramas, all five of which are published in this latest release.
They are Guaranteed! (“a national event” Irish Times), Haughey|Gregory (“sharply written docudrama, which combines history and humour to superb effect” Sunday Times), Bailed Out! (“injected a new and vital ingredient into the Irish theatre landscape” Irish Independent), Inside the GPO (“deeply moving and utterly memorable… deserves to be remembered as pivotal” Sunday Independent) and The Treaty (“A remarkable piece of political drama” Michael Billington, Guardian).
Just a few of our Fishamblers showing off our brand new notebooks - and we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! 📖
A huge thank you to @duffybookbinders for bringing these to life with such care and craftsmanship. We’re absolutely delighted with them and can’t wait to put them to good use ✍️
Jim was delighted and honoured to attend the launch of the 1926 Census, with great speeches by Orlaith McBride, Director of the National Archives, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Minister of Culture Patrick O’Donovan, and Bryan Dobson.
