We had to go take a look, and the rumors ere true. Really good tuna fishing just two hours from the slip. After a few days of wfo bites, fishing definitely cooled off yesterday, but we managed to slide around the zone and pull a couple fish out of each stop until we hit limits. We also saw three dorado on a small strip of kelp. Dorado in April that close to home is mind blowing! Everything appears to be setting up similar to 2015 but with warmer water and even earlier. If you want to get in on some of this Tuna action, I would definitely book earlier in the summer than normal. In 2015. The water got so warm most of the tuna had dried up by August. Had the pleasure of taking the @thesavbananas boys out again. @bill_leroy , @dakota_albritton , @daltonmauldin5 and Mace all hopped on board for a day of bumper boats at the rockpile. The number of boats was only surpassed by the volume of fish. The amount of YT on that spot right now is insane! We ducked and dodged and got it done for the boys. It’s becoming a pattern in the late Summer and early Fall to experience some of the best kite fishing of the year, and ‘24 seems to be no exception! The BD team took advantage of the excellent fishing to head out West and find some kite biters of their own.

Big thanks to Joey and the Georgia boys for a fun day on the water today. We went to the promise land and they got the full show. Foamers, whale feeds, kite bites and more. Kevin and his crew came out from TX to give the big bluefin a go. Zero wind made the task about 10x harder but these boys hung in there and got it done. Thanks for the good times boys. Too much wind sucks. Too little wind really sucks! Summertime rolls….
Tough day on the tuna grounds today but perseverance paid off. Late in the game, @davedowning spotted a bird school at 4 miles and off we went. That turned out to be a big fish foamer. Quickly threw a bait in it and they were so drunk on the anchovies they showed little interest. Finally we talked one into doing it and killed a mean 160#er. As we were fighting it the weather went to hell. Blowing 25 and gusting over 30. The school sunk out and I made the call to point it toward home but keep the balloon and kite ready. While jogging back we located another zone of big fish and quickly hooked a pair. Fought them until sundown and wrapped things up for the long ride home. Thanks to @davidgordon0624 , @blake_marchandash , Nick and Devlin for the good times and laughs. We pulled one out of the hat for sure.

Yesterday we were on a content collection mission for BD and some of our partners. Rounded up the team and a couple of past team members and made the run for the tuna grounds. We were treated to unexpectedly nice weather and a ton of hungry fish. We spent the am chasing foamers and picked off a few on the casting gear. Switched it up mid day and went looking for the big stuff. Quickly hooked four and headed back early.
