I’ve been going to the Chicago Auto Show since I can remember… from going with my parents at 6-7 years old to being able to take my 6 year old to show him all the cool stuff and end with my name on a plaque and my car here… I’ve never really cared what people thought about me but when my Kid’s eyes lit up when he saw my name and car there, I felt like the coolest guy in the world. I care about him thinking his dad is cool. So VW kills the Buzz for 2026… they say they’re bringing it back in 27 but I doubt it. My thoughts… the ID Buzz is an awesome unit. The Pros? The Buzz drives great and I doubt there’s a more fun minivan out right now. It’s quick, handles well, and does the job of a minivan incredibly well. It looks awesome… they mixed modern with nostalgia perfectly in my opinion. BUT! There are some cons… 1) The price was too high. A loaded ID Buzz tops out at 73k which is over 10k more than a Sienna or Odyssey (the best minivans historically). They priced themselves out of the market especially considering it’s electric which brings me to my second problem with the car… the US hasn’t embraced EVs like we were expecting (which I’m ok with as an enthusiast) and VW decided to take a family hauler, a roadtrip menace, a travel baseball tool, and overall a mileage whore… and make it have a 275ish mile range… Long Story Short - A great unit that was doomed from the start thanks to the power plant choice. I guess I’ll drive mine a little now and pour one out for the Buzz. It also is SOOOO MUCH BETTER with the new air. Ok it’s bedtime. #shitboxcollector #idbuzz #altermann #autobarnimports

What started as a simple color change turned into this. The Rieger MK3 is coming home this week and I can’t believe how it turned out. @amsautowerks really is a fucking magician… the best part is now I get to bother him about the other three cars I have sitting over there!
