Today, we welcomed 178 students from Birmingham City Schools to Oak Mountain State Park for a fun day introducing students to the game of golf and the life skills that come with it. ⛳️
From learning new skills to spending time outdoors and simply having fun, it was great seeing so many students engaged and having fun throughout the day.
Thank you to Birmingham City Schools for partnering with us to make this experience possible and to Oak Mountain State Park for helping host an amazing day for our students.

We’re proud to welcome Chip Thomas as the new Executive Director of First Tee Birmingham, and we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
Chip brings a deep passion for youth development and a strong belief in the power of golf to shape character, build confidence, and create opportunities for the next generation. As he steps into this role, his vision is centered on helping young people grow not only as players, but as leaders, teammates, and active members of their communities.
At First Tee Birmingham, the game has always been about more than what happens on the course. It’s about the life skills, values, and connections that help young people succeed long after they leave the fairway. Chip shares that belief wholeheartedly and is committed to strengthening our mission and expanding our impact throughout the Birmingham community.
