A few years ago, our volunteer committee created this mission statement and mandate with help from our arts community members. Having many new followers over the years, we feel it's a great time to highlight these again. We hope that all participating venues, artists, and crawlers can continue to uphold these values as members of this vibrant community ❤️

"Hi, my name is Joshua Murdock and I’ve been a student of art my entire life. In constant pursuit of various interests, I took an impressionism class at the Art School of Peterborough (@artschoolofptbo ) with Jane Hall, where I fell in love with oil paints and the impressionist style. In a world rife with constant distractions and frustrations, it is easy to lose oneself. Painting, for me, is a meditation, a chance to appreciate and recreate the moments of stillness we find in nature: The simple joy of a cool breeze on a hot day or the soft cooing of a mourning dove as the world around us buzzes with the constant hum of life. I hope my paintings can bring others fleeting moments of solace in the midst of their busy lives."
I’m setting up the Economies of Scale show at @watsonandlou this afternoon (Thursday) and I’m looking forward to welcoming visitors on Saturday. 383 Water Street, Peterborough, ON. The opening reception is from 2-4 pm where you can see these new pieces in person, peruse a variety of interactive materials regarding housing, development projects, community building, etc, meet me, and creatively share your thoughts and ideas. The show will run during store hours until Saturday, April 25th.
