As 2023 comes to an end, First Bloom Films wants to thank all of you for the unwavering support received throughout the year. While it might’ve felt quiet, the team was hard at work behind the scenes developing their second narrative feature, collaborating with brands, and exploring the commercial industry. Leaps and strides have been made to expand the team overall and put multiple hands in multiple honey pots, all so that this upcoming year, First Bloom’s next chapter of filmmaking, commercial production, and content creation goes off with a bang! ICYMI, First Bloom Films wrapped production on their latest film, The Designer, this past September. The script, having been written in 2021, finally had a talented cast bring it to life. We are very grateful and fortunate to have been able to work with such amazing individuals in front and behind the camera. On March 7, 2023, the 2023 Pattern of Demands was approved by WGA members, 98.4% (5,553) voting yes, and 1.6% (90) voting no. The demands have been split into three main categories: Compensation and Residuals, Pension Plan and Health Fund and Professional Standards and Protection in the Employment of Writers.
While screen pay has declined 14% in the last five years, show budgets continue to sky rocket. This is about writers getting their fair share and protecting the next generation that enters the room. #wgastrong
