There’s something about the streets around Digbeth, that raw, lived in texture that does half the work for you combined with a beard that genuinely deserves its own booking fee. The 90s called. She answered. I genuinely didn’t know what to expect when we rocked up to this dark dingy car park. Graffiti everywhere, rough brickwork, paint peeling off every surface, and I remember thinking, this is either going to be incredible or a complete disaster. It was very much the former due to some incredible light that comes through the ceiling. It gives off pure 90s. This is why I love shooting on location in Birmingham. You find these pockets of spaces that no studio can replicate, and when the light hits brickwork like this!!! The cure for hiccups….. Why is this not common knowledge. Just ask someone a question. There’s a downside though. You can’t ask someone to ask you a question when you’ve got hiccups. You know it’s coming and it’s no longer a surprise. Why does it work. Well it’s easier explained in the video, but basically it’s a diversion tactic. The same way as ‘shocking someone’ can cure someone’s hiccups. But asking a question works way better. All you need to do is make someone stop and think for a second. Something that makes their eyes move showing there’s a thought process going on and that’s when the hiccups will stop. Now of course someone with way more followers than me will jump on this and ride the wave, but remember where you heard it first and put it into action and to be honest please do tell the world. Let’s cure those hiccups and stop people going to A&E for such stupid things.

Tulle, pearls, and a beautiful secret. Surrounded by the softest pastel set I think I’ve ever worked on, Lauren really does excel at this type of set. The colours, the fabric, the beaded corset, all of it comes together beautifully. There’s so much room to be creative with the mood, the light, the styling, and when the model is top class, it all chef’s kiss. When it rains in Stratford-upon-Avon, you don’t reschedule. You shoot. There’s something about British skies that just works in black and white. Stratford-upon-Avon already has so much character but add a bit of drizzle and@it starts to feel like a Sunday afternoon hallmark film. We just didn’t find Charlie a rich bachelor with a posh accent!! Just walked through the door after an 8 hour shoot and a 2 hour drive home, not even dropped the camera bag down, got shoes off, or even had a cup of tea. There’s always one….. “Hey, can you send my pictures from today?” 😂 I know you feel this one. People think it’s as simple as taking a picture on a phone, and sharing it. They don’t see the hours of backing up cards, culling, retouching, exporting, uploading, replying to emails, and trying to keep your eyes open long enough to do it all the other admin properly while side hustling (the later is my problem and it’s my job to ensure I can meet deadlines, day job or no day job) We love what we do… but sometimes I swear people think the photos teleport straight from the camera to Instagram 😭 Now I know some of you are stellar at posting images super quick after an event, but that’s just not me, culling and post processing is as much a part of the process as the shoot is and I only want the absolute best of the best getting out in the wild.
