Before she ever spoke…
they spoke for her.
Too loud.
Too much.
Too ambitious.
Too dark.
Too emotional.
Not enough.
Words repeated so often…
they stopped sounding like opinions
and started sounding like identity.
This series is about what happens when a woman—especially a Black woman—has to build herself while carrying names she never chose.
As a Black man, this work is also a confrontation.
Not just with society.
Not just with history.
With us.
Because some of these words were spoken in homes…
in friendships…
in relationships…
in silence.
And some of them came from men who looked like me.
