Is it weird that I LOVE it when a client tells me the feel a bit scared about where we’re planning on taking their brand? 😅😅😅 Honestly I love it, cause in brand strategy THAT’S where the magic is. If your top goal is to look ‘professional’ you’ve already lost. Cause in a world of AI sameness, distinctiveness is the only way to stand out. Brand is the moat. Brand is the gold. Brand is the way. If you feel a bit afraid and a lot uncomfortable - good. You’re doing it right, my friend. Soooo it's International Women's Day (almost). And while on the whole, I now find this an eye-rolling thing due to its tokenism, here's my 2c for the day: You will not find a harder-working, more productive person than a working mother. A mother who has a to-do list as long as her arm and 2pm school pick up to do it by. A mother who has a sick kid at home for a week and deadlines she still has to hit. A mother who has a 3 year old barnacle literally attached to her butt while she tries to get a sneaky 15 mins of emails sorted (pictured 😂). To all the working parents out there - I salute you. Having kids really is the ultimate productivity hack 🤪

It took way longer than I thought it would to clean this up 😅 WORTH IT THOUGH. As for your font sizing, this is probably the most basic accessibility, UX and design hack going... but I see it often enough that it bears repeating. If your font is too small to read, ain't nobody going to read it. Increase the size. Please. For the love of all that's holy. Anyone reading it will thank you 😂

I have an important message for you: STOP THROWING SPAGHETTI AT THE WALL. The spaghetti is your brand (cause it's probably a mess). The wall is the world (cause you probably haven't defined an ideal client). The Italian crying in the corner is me (cause I'm sad you're throwing the spaghetti instead of eating it). Want to know the laziest way you can possibly do customer research? I got you. Just finished up a brand strategy chat with my client and as he was leaving he said 'thanks for the counseling session'. (... and there I was worrying I'd offended him by being too brutal 😅) It's true though - getting clarity about your brand and business can feel kinda like getting good therapy. Especially if your current brand is making you sad (which it is for lot of our clients when they first come to us). I experience this myself - I sit down with my business coach once every few months for a coffee, looking forward to being ripped to shreds (kindly and with incredibly good intent of course!). Because I walk away with a super clear idea of what's next and lit the heck up to go get it done. This is what brand strategy does for your business (when it's done right). It gives you the map to get where you're trying to go. And goodness knows we all get a little lost sometimes.. If you're looking for a way to set your brand on fire (in a really good way), I'm working on something at the moment to make brand strategy more accessible.... stay tuned 👀

The most underrated brand tactic? Public speaking. If you’re the founder of a B2B service based business you definitely need to consider this a core part of your brand and marketing mix cause it makes a heck of a difference. I’ve been performing on stages personally since I was 6 years old. It’s not something I’ve ever thought deeply about if I’m honest. It’s just something I’ve always done - and been pretty comfortable doing. Now I’m no expert but I do know this - It’s humbled the HECK out of me. It’s given me SO MUCH confidence. It’s given me HEAPS of opportunities. Whether it’s on a podcast, at a charity event, in a small workshop - practice getting onstage and being SEEN on behalf of your business. And if you do, let me know what kind of doors it opens for you? 📸 some of my favourite moments on stage over the past 8 years.
