Took me a long time to learn this lesson but I’m so glad I finally did because:
- the lows are not as low
- when I face a challenge now I KNOW I’ll be ok no matter what
- I’m not shy to be my authentic nerdy weird self
- I’m not as afraid to make mistakes
- I’m not as much of a people pleaser or perfectionist
So that means there’s actually room in my brain for grace and self compassion which is super freeing.

Some reflections from another year around the sun☀️🎈
Being a female in the industry, you’re often encouraged, sometimes even mandated, to hide your age. As if an artist’s value is highest when she’s in her 20s, glowing with that ingénue energy.
But what if we lived in a world where music wasn’t judged by the age or appearance of the artist… only by how deeply it moved you?
Whenever someone asks my age, I usually say “ageless.” Partly conditioning 😅 but mostly because it’s the truth I choose to live in. Society tries real hard to put us in boxes and remind us of timelines and limitations. But what if there was no “right” age to get married, start a career, have kids, or reinvent yourself? What if life unfolded according to your soul, your readiness, your unique path?
Age isn’t just a number. It’s a collection of sacred years; wisdom, depth, growth, heartbreak, joy, and lessons that shape the person you become.
And I’ve realized more and more as time goes on: the people around you matter. With the wrong ones (this can include medical professionals & even well-meaning family and friends), you can feel older than your spirit. With the right ones, every line, every change in your body, every part of the maturation process becomes another layer of beauty that makes up your gorgeous self.
So today I’m celebrating life, growth, purpose… and all the light we’re here to share.
