🔥 Second week of the #SHArgentina 🧉 In 📍Santa Fe 👉 Workshop on equity and justice in IMF by #AdrianaFord and #JayMistry @centrewildfires @cobra_collective_cic and WPs presentations. 👉 Application of Carbon and biodiversity protocols in different plots. Thanks Cinzia and Quel 😉 @unitorino @universitatdgirona_ 👉 Visit to the islands of the Paraná river and knowledge exchange with local people. ✅Getting to know the Paraná river fluvial system and its wedlands. ✅Learning about the use of fire by a local family. In 📍Rosario 👉Visit to the islands off the city of Rosario, where the 2020 wildfires led to two conflicting perspectives between producers and environmental groups regarding livestock exploitation of wetlands and the use of fire. 👉Conversations with both groups and internal debate on recommendations for implementing a #IFM programme in the province of Santa Fe. It has been two intense weeks of learning, sharing spaces, knowledge, and experiences. 🔥 First week of the #SHArgentina in 📍Santa Fe 😊 1️⃣ After presenting the project to local authorities and providing an overview of fire in Argentina, its intercultural aspects and actors, we held project meetings to discuss the activities underway in the different work packages of the project. 2️⃣We carried out several workshops: Getting to know each other better; advancing on the project's guidelines for capacity building; and on how to create a participatory video on intercultural fire management as a means of raising awareness and exposing issues that require action. 3️⃣Two field trips: Plots in the Paraná River wetlands to learn about the experimental work on #prescribedburning being carried out by @unlitoral_ ; and visit to the Cayastá Archaeological Park affected by a fire in 2021, and the adjacent nature reserve to reflect on prevention, heritage, and use of fire. Thank you @unlitoral_ @unraf.rafaela @santafeconicet @proteccioncivilsantafe @cobracollective and collaborators @bomberosvoluntariosdecayasta @etnograficostafe 🙌 ------------------------------------------- 🔥 Primera semana del #SHArgentina en 📍Santa Fe 😊 1️⃣ Tras presentar el proyecto a las autoridades locales y brindar una visión general del fuego en Argentina, sus aspectos interculturales y actores, mantuvimos reuniones para discutir las actividades en curso en los diferentes paquetes de trabajo. 2️⃣Realizamos varios talleres: para conocernos mejor; para avanzar en el documento sobre directrices para el desarrollo de capacidades; y para crear un video participativo sobre el manejo intercultural del fuego para generar conciencia y exponer problemáticas que requieren acción. 3️⃣Dos salidas de campo: a parcelas en los humedales del río Paraná para conocer el trabajo experimental sobre #quemasprescritas que realiza @unlitoral_ ; y visita al Parque Arqueológico de Cayastá, afectado por un incendio en 2021, y a la reserva natural adyacente para reflexionar sobre prevención, patrimonio y uso del fuego.
