We can all play a part in preventing dangerous wildfires.
How dangerous? We’ve enhanced this image to show you the potential devastation wildfire can cause.
Avoid lighting a fire outdoors during wildfire high-risk periods or when a wildfire danger assessment is in place for your area.
Remember, there’s no such thing as a harmless fire.
An unattended campfire or discarded cigarette can destroy hectares of land and wildlife habitat.
Land managers and farmers can carry out controlled burning during muirburn season which runs until 15 April, and they should follow established guidelines.

👷🏻Progress Update - Perth Training Centre👷🏻
Work is still being carried out at Perth Training Centre to provide state-of-the-art training and fire contaminant control facilities.
The completed project will see a Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT) facility in Perth, replacing the current obsolete Hot Fire Training Unit with a facility which simulates real fires crews would respond to.
With the project due to be completed this summer, SFRS colleagues were taken on a site visit to see the progress which has been made.

Paddleboarding can be a fun water sports activity during the summer – but only if carried out safely.
Even strong swimmers can be at risk of cold water shock.
If you are paddleboarding, it is important to ensure your safety while taking part in activities.
-Always wear a buoyancy aid
-Dress for the water, not the air
-Attach a leash to stay connected to the board
If you fall in, float to live. If you see someone in the water who needs help, don’t enter the water - immediately call 999.
A £23,000 programme of welfare improvements has been completed at the SFRS Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd Dundee Airport Training Site.
The upgrades include improved changing areas, a designated fire‑kit disrobe space, a warm‑water decontamination sink and a protective canopy to support safe training in all weather.
These improvements strengthen the site’s compliance and enhance safety for SFRS personnel, as well as benefitting HIAL firefighters who rely on the facility for core operational training.
