Thursday, December 11 (yes, this Thursday!), Livia Satriano of Libri Belli drops by to tell us all about the book she’s decided to bring back to life: Jolly, the smoking cat — the very first title in her brand-new (and surprisingly named) series, Libri Belli.
Livia will be in our studio from 6:30 p.m. onward. If you’re curious about the marvels of Jolly, the undisputed idol of the Two Gulfs, or of his natural heir Giollino, come join us! Cat lovers, smoke lovers, lovers of smokers, cat skeptics, and plain old lovers of any variety: all are welcome. There’s space for everyone.
P.S. There’s a courtyard where you can smoke and let your cat enjoy a puff, too.
Giovedì 11 dicembre (questo giovedì), Livia Satriano di Libri Belli ci racconta il libro che ha deciso di ristampare, Jolly, il gatto che fuma / the smoking cat, e che inaugura la sua nuova collana che si chiama, a sorpresa, Libri Belli.
Livia viene nel nostro studio, a partire dalle 1830: se volete sapere di più dei prodigi di Jolly, l’idolo dei Due Golfi, o del suo erede naturale Giollino, accorrete numerosi, amanti dei gatti, del fumo, amanti degli uni e degli altri, fumatori e non fumatori amanti dei gatti, anche solo amanti. C’è spazio.
PS c’è un cortile dove potete fumare e far fumare il vostro gatto.
FIONDA a Ulassai: la prima residenza di Legarti

Ci sono esperienze talmente ricche e intense che meritano di essere raccontate più volte. Perché sono incontri che lasciano un segno. Perché sono semi che, anche dopo la fine, continuano a germogliare.
Ci sono incontri che diventano legami, fili invisibili che uniscono persone, luoghi e visioni. È stato così per FIONDA, primo collettivo artistico ospitato in residenza a “Il Borgo dell’Arte” nell’ambito del progetto @Legarti – Residenze d’Artista Internazionali a Ulassai. Dieci giorni vissuti con profondità, entusiasmo e cura da parte di dieci persone straordinarie: Carlotta, Ettore, Eleonora, Gioele, Sarah, Francesco, Phoebe, Alice, Roberto e Brigitta.
L’incontro tra Legarti e FIONDA è stato proprio questo: un ponte autentico tra arte e comunità, tra chi arriva e chi accoglie, destinato a durare nel tempo.

Nazareth Pavillon
“I will never leave, my home Alive”.
Among the must-see events on Saturday 28 at the “ex carcere di San Vito” (Agrigento), we will have a special Pavillon dedicated to Nazareth. For those who were not with us in Mazzarino, we will have the great privilege of meeting Razan Zoubi and Daher Zeidani.
Razan Zoubi Zeidani, curator of the Pavilion, a Palestinian architect, influenced by her family story of surviving the Palestinian Nakba. Her architectural research focuses on Palestinian urban identity, exploring the deep connection between Palestinians and their home as a symbol of resistance. Delving into the invisible layers of urban transformation of Alsouk in Nazareth old city. Her passion for the preservation of endangered Palestinian architectural heritage and her philosophy of architectural and urban rehabilitation have resulted with the establishment of “ALDAR,” an independent cultural space for artistic research practices that intersect between art, culture and architecture.
Daher:
The co-curator and art supervisor of the Nazareth pavilion, was born and raised in Nazareth Souk. As a cultural activist he seeks to emphasise the importance of personal responsibility starting from the immediate surrounding until deep sea and ozone layer .

Sabato 21 giugno il Borgo dell’Arte ha ufficialmente aperto le sue porte, dopo oltre vent’anni, trasformandosi in un nuovo luogo culturale nel cuore di Ulassai.
Nella stessa giornata, @fionda.studio ha concluso il suo percorso di residenza artistica con “Cartografia dell’Imprevisto”: una mostra diffusa negli spazi del borgo e un laboratorio partecipato di personalizzazione delle borse, aperto a tutta la comunità.
Durante la residenza, FIONDA ha abitato il territorio con sensibilità e ascolto, raccogliendo stimoli visivi e simbolici attraverso il dialogo quotidiano con Ulassai e i suoi abitanti.
Ogni incontro, ogni dettaglio, è diventato parte di un processo progettuale dinamico, che ha dato vita a un racconto visivo in continua trasformazione.
Un grazie di cuore a tutti i componenti di FIONDA per la passione, l’energia e l’intelligenza creativa con cui hanno abitato e trasformato il Borgo dell’Arte in questi giorni intensi e bellissimi.
E un sentito ringraziamento anche a @like_usual_ , che con grande sensibilità ha documentato la residenza attraverso foto e video, catturando lo spirito del progetto e le emozioni di ogni momento.
Nei prossimi mesi, nuovi artisti arriveranno a Ulassai per scoprire il paese e, allo stesso tempo, far conoscere la propria arte agli ulassesi e a chiunque vorrà lasciarsi coinvolgere.

THE ERA OF DAYDREAMING
Artissima 2024 talks to us about daydreaming, after the introspection on the unknown and the construction of aware communities in the previous two years. The spontaneity of creative thought, the transformation of the everyday into extraordinary visions, and the emotional intensity of daydreaming. The visual narrative translates into a dynamic layout that merges visual thinking with the personal space/moment of daydreaming, a shock or a flash in our daily processing of life in real time. Images in sequence, details of movement and actions, a clock that marks a random time, to celebrate the uniqueness of everyday life and its transformation through the power of imagination.

Sounds with Eliminator FCRP
Projectors in our hands, we directed rays of light to the edges and angles of the room, playing with the unpredictable and the unfoldable. All of this was for the second edition of ESTERNO NOTTE, a partecipatory event during which various projections appear around the city. And it was such a pleasure to see our homage to @robertbrownjohn and his lettering covering the roof of our local monument!
