BUBBLE
A closed perceptual system in which the subject is continuously reformatted.
The membrane operates as both apparatus and fiction, simultaneously protective and deforming.
Surface replaces essence; visibility becomes a constructed event.
The body is held in suspension, negotiated between projection and residue.
Rupture is not an ending but a methodological necessity.
The burst marks a shift from unconscious inhabitation to critical awareness.
What persists is a trace: distortion internalized as memory.

Mirror(ing) is a curatorial project conceived and directed by @lunaseila , with photography by @richardfaine .
Through the metaphor of the reflection, the work explores how the mirror, both external and social, can obscure our perception of factual reality and conceal our own position of privilege. Far from functioning as a neutral surface, the reflection harbours the risk of enabling the usurpation of the ego, generating a persistent tension between the external mirror (the performative, socially constructed self) and the internal one (the authentic core of identity).
Above all, the project foregrounds the most subtle and insidious threat: the social reflection, amplified by the mechanisms of visibility and validation in contemporary culture, can gradually erode the personal reflection, ultimately jeopardising one’s integrity and the irreducible singularity of an unrepeatable identity.
Mirroring therefore emerges as a dynamic interplay of multiple, overlapping reflections: a fragmented puzzle whose reassembly compels the viewer to look inward. It constitutes a deliberate invitation to acknowledge one’s privileged standpoint, to interrupt the relentless acceleration of everyday life, and to perceive external reality beyond the self referential bubble we so frequently inhabit. Only through this reflective pause can authentic contact with the other and with the world be restored, allowing us to transcend the narcissistic illusion of the endlessly mirrored self.
