Heyyy strong people community! 2 things, here is my rock collection, I hope you like it đ and also, I am looking for your vote of support daily for me to be 2026 Mr. Health and Fitness! Stones â theyâre nothing new, history was built on them.
Becoming the next Mr. Health and Fitness means lifting more stones â because even though itâs historically a way to get strong, itâs not something most people do anymore. But hereâs the cool part: we can connect to our natural source of strength anywhere, anytime.
I want to hoist these stones, and I want others to give it a shot too. So grab your buddies, step outside, and get stoned⊠I mean, go lift stones! đ Vote for me or Link đ is in the BIO! /2026/atreus-trygg #training #strongman #fun #mrhealthandfitness2026 @utahheavyathletics@strengthstonescollective

In Icelandâs SnĂŠfellsnes Peninsula lies DjĂșpalĂłnssandur beach, known for its four legendary lifting stones. For centuries, sailors and fishermen would lift these stones to prove their worth to a shipâs crew and earn their rank. The story of becoming Fullsterkur (fully strong) on this beach goes like this:
Amlóði (Useless): Weighing 23 kg (51 lbs), this stone was for the weakest. Lifting only this stone meant you were considered useless and received no place on the ship.
HĂĄlfdrĂŠttingur (Half-Carrier): At 54 kg (119 lbs), this was the minimum weight required. A man who could lift this stone was considered strong enough to work on the ship as an oarsman, earning a small share of the catch.
HĂĄlfsterkur (Half-Strong): The 100 kg (220 lbs) stone signified greater strength. A lifter of this stone would earn a higher position, perhaps as a steersman, and a better share of the haul.
Fullsterkur (Full-Strong): The ultimate test was to lift the 154 kg (340 lbs) stone. Only a few elite men could manage this. A true Fullsterkur would be named master of the boat and receive a full share.
