Mother’s Day (for me) has always been a little bittersweet. It can be tricky celebrating a holiday dedicated to a person you don’t have a relationship with for reasons out of your control.
I’m now in a beautiful season where Mother’s Day is largely sweet because of my babies and the meaning they give to my life. But there was a season, a long one - of waiting and loss before we had Jovi when it was one of the most painful days of the year. And every year there’s the sting of what my relationship with my mother could be. But bigger than the sting is the honor, and the privilege, and the undeniable blessing that is my own motherhood. Forever blessed to be chosen for this role, and forever sending love to those who are waiting for the title or mourning their own situation in one way or another. I see you 💘
Thank you Jesus for this life, these babies, and this chance to flip the script 🌸 and happy Mother’s Day to the beautiful women I get to walk this road alongside!

newborn sessions for the first born (besides the dog) are what I used to call “little work vacations” when I was shooting weddings full time. you’re in cold AC the whole time, on no real timeline besides what baby throws at you and you get to break for cuddles all while really just taking your time with things. Babies are kind of like flowers in that way, they make you be in the present! Except for the way they make you obsess over time and how fleeting it is but that’s another convo 😅
