For the 6th year in a row, I get to celebrate the solar return of my pharaoh. My beautiful man, who cares for me so gently with one hand and fiercely protects me with the other.

I have so many words but my tongue keeps twisting, fingers keep fumbling. An abundance of intense feels that are somehow releasing and cocooning me simultaneously. Typical bornday things. All the yesterdays wrapped tight in birthday blues. Not today though. Today we’re just going with the flow 😎
I am full to the rim with gratitude. For being alive. For the people I love who love me back. For what we’ve built together with @spokenmoonopenmic . For the sunshine on my face at the train platform and the texts I woke up to and my daughters sleepy face before I left and the barista who said Happy Birthday and that the train didn’t smell bad, like at all.
I am cheery even though I’m running late. I am counting the ways I’m blessed despite the universes endless tests. It’s my muhfuckin solar return and I look only at the light. Even if just for today ☀️

Storytime: 2021, was just too soon to celebrate together. A text after midnight had to suffice while we partied separately.
2022, the ‘vid caught me, again 🙄 FaceTiming had to take the place of sharing space.
But 2023, since then baby, it’s been you and me! My grape eating partner. The strong arms that lift me in the air with all the excitement, and the glimmer of a fresh timeline in ya eyes. Cheers to being by each others side for all the Januarys we have here and beyond them.
