When people ask me what kind of music I play, I say rock. Literally. This is the singing stone made by @svaramsoundexperience . It is a single stone carved in such a precise way that when you rub it with wet hands, it creates the most fantastic cosmic sounds and pulsations. I often refer to it as bones of the Earth singing. You’ve never heard anything like it. Promise.
I love collecting rare instruments, especially acoustic ones. This is the singing stone and my newest edition, the Yaybahar. The Yaybahar is absolutely magical. I discovered it at an art gallery and it pulled something to the surface that’s ineffable. We commissioned the artist to create one for my studio. I’m still learning how to speak its language. It can be haunting, industrial, enchanting, and beautiful all at the same time leaving you feeling transported to floating realms and incredibly stimulated at the same time. If I could ever be so lucky, perhaps I could experience its sounds live from the creator, @yaybaharzen . Deep bow to his brilliance and offering to the sonic world. On May 15th I will be sharing the dynamic frequencies of the singing stone. This special instrument is the bones of the Earth and makes unique sounds when caressed with water.
