It's time for this production company to be held to account.
To the parties mentioned in the attached open letter:
We are waiting for clarity and execution on the settlement of our invoices for post production work carried out on Empini and Queendom.
We work long hours, often late and on weekends, sacrificing our wellbeing and time with loved ones to accommodate demands and deadlines often at short to zero notice. In return, we expect mutual respect and that our invoices are honoured in a timeous manner.
We are micro-independent professionals who cannot absorb extended payment delays. I am writing on behalf of my industry colleagues when I say this situation has caused major distress within our homes, damage to our credit scores and compromises to our credibility because we are not able to honour OUR suppliers invoices, not to mention lapsed car repayments and insurance policies etc. There is also the personal humiliation of having to ask our family and friends for loans which we are also not able to pay back. It cascades into a vicious chain reaction and causes exponential fallout and a devastating ripple effect.
This situation has created an unsightly blemish on the SA TV post production landscape. We feel extremely disappointed and have lost complete confidence. And yet, there is no public statement or response to the outcry. Do the honourable thing and liquidate.
Ensure our payments are actioned without further delay as we wish to avoid collective 3rd party intervention. We are not going to let it slide.
