We’re kicking off the first FIMS Grad Library Book Club with a timely and powerful read: Who’s Afraid of Gender? by Judith Butler! 📚 Join us for a one-hour, in-person discussion on the real-world consequences of anti-gender movements and censorship on Thursday, November 27th from 12:00-1:00pm, led by our SLA Settia. 🤗 Worried about finishing the whole book in time? Don’t stress! To keep things light, this session will focus on just one short chapter from the book: 📖Chapter 3 — Contemporary Attacks on Gender in the United States: Censorship and Rights-Stripping (pp. 93–111) The reading is available as an eBook through OMNI, and printed copies are also available for pick-up at the FIMS Grad Library for those who prefer reading on paper. 🙌 All are welcome — whether you’re queer, trans, a person of colour, an educator, a student, or simply someone who believes in LGBTQIA+ rights, racial justice, youth empowerment, and intellectual freedom. 💫We look forward to seeing you there! 💫 🗓️When: Thursday, November 26th, 12:00-1:00pm 🛋️Where: Reading room, FIMS Graduate Library #bookclub #fimsgradlib #judithbutler #whosafraidofgender #censorship #intellectualfreedom #mlis #fallreads #genderjustice #lgbtqia
