We hope to get people to look up from their feet and phones and raise a chuckle or at least an eyebrow! Our sculptures can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike: Although our designs are highly technical, its not high art, but it is high UP art! The great thing about working for City BIDs is everyone gets to see our work for free."

We will be spotlighting each of the 1️⃣8️⃣ sites where you can find art as part of WINTERACTIVE 2026. First, witness the awe-inspiring Kraken Crossing.
From time to time during an especially frigid Winter, the tides of the Boston Harbor freeze over, and rumor has it, more than just boats can get trapped on shore. Left behind to wait until the spring thaw, this particular traveler followed a long forgotten colonial waterway that still runs beneath the streets of the historic Hub. After one too many close calls with the T, he's emerged from the underground depths and surfaced in the heart of the city.
Kraken Crossing is designed by @filthyluker and Pedro Estrellas brought to us by @designsinair . Find it on Washington Street across from T.J. Maxx; hosted in partnership with Midwood
