AI may have brought a photography revolution, but for us it's only reinforced what we’ve known all along about adventure weddings and elopements: it's about the experience. You can digitally construct mountains and paint in sunsets, but nothing compares to actually being there. Experiencing, seeing, feeling it in real time. Trust us. Standing there, hand-in-hand, exchanging vows beneath the towering peaks after hiking in the dark, as the first light peeks through the mountains? Nothing we could ever capture or ‘prompt engineer’ will beat that. It's the emotion behind the photos that give them life and power to transport you back into that moment. After all, the real magic isn't in the image. It’s the adventure lived. (And, for the record: all the images you'll see from us are always real! No fake mountains or anything else here. 😉)

If you ever wonder how there are rarely any other people in our photographs besides the couple: it's because, most of the time, it *really* is that way! 😊 After so many years of living, guiding, and photographing in the Rockies, we've got all sorts of tricks up our sleeves to make sure our couples have the quiet, peaceful ceremony they want. By welcoming sunrise or sunset into your plans, and choosing hidden gems and out of the box activities (we help with that!), it's completely possible to say your vows in private or have a mountaintop picnic to yourself - even in a busy area like Banff National Park! 🏔️🥾

The most magical way to end a day of hiking, helicoptering, and saying "I do" ✨ While we drove back to Banff after a full day of elopement adventures, the sky was clear and the stars were just coming out to play. During late-autumn in the Rockies, there's still a fairly decent window to catch the Milky Way during the early evening. Knowing this, and that the conditions were right, we found a spot tucked just outside the Town of Banff, and stepped out of our vehicles. The night was peaceful...stars reflecting on the lake, and Milky Way aglow overhead. After a first dance lit by lanterns and some time being creative under the stars, this shot was captured. Rocky Mountain elopement dreams, if you ask us. ✨🌌

We took a little break from the grid. The mountains did not. 🏔️ 2025 looked like this: so many beautiful Banff elopements and weddings. helicopter weddings, backcountry camping elopements, hiking weddings.... lakeside ceremonies that had us crying behind our cameras, and couples who completely threw out the rulebook and made the day their own (including jumping into Moraine Lake in their wedding attire - that's got to be some sort of record?!) Behind the scenes, it was just as full… a few new team members, brand new travel + elopement guides, a new client portal, and a fully rebuilt planning experience we cannot wait to share (coming April 2026. and yes, all our current couples get this goodness too! 🌱) Hayley, Andrew + Team, reporting back and ready for whatever 2026 throws at us. (And in true Film & Forest fashion, we’re hoping that means more helis. more ridgelines. more “I do’s” in places you can only reach by foot, horse, or helicopter.) If that sounds like your kind of wedding day, come say hi 👋 We’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up. We have a few sneaky spots remaining for 2026, and are booking all the way out to 2028 for some epic destination elopements (crazy, we know)!

Imagine saying "I do" high up on a glacier, with nothing but the mountains, your love, and the sound of a helicopter fading away... 💍✨ If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that’s as epic as your love story, a Banff helicopter elopement might be the perfect way to do it! Think jaw-dropping views, total privacy, and an adventure you’ll never forget. A Banff helicopter elopement might be right for you if the following make you think "heck yes!"... 🌲 Unmatched Views: You want those out-of-this-world mountain views, not spots you've seen shared before. A heli elopement will take you to remote ridgelines and glaciers that are impossible to reach on foot. 🤍 Exclusivity: Forget the crowds and distractions. With a helicopter elopement, you’ll escape to the wilds of the Canadian Rockies, where it’s just you, your partner, and the spectacular landscape. 🌲 Adventure: If you’ve always wanted something different and totally unique, hopping in a helicopter for your elopement is the ultimate adventure. 🤍 Easy Access: Love adventure but not the idea of hiking in a wedding dress? No problem! A heli elopement gives you quick access to mountaintops and stunning locations—without spending hours on the trail if that isn't your thing. If any of these sound amazing to you... then a Banff helicopter elopement could be the perfect way to say "I do!" for your adventure or mountain wedding! 🏔️ #banffelopement #banffelopementphotographer #heliwedding #adventurewedding #adventureelopement

Autumn might be here, but we're still reliving summer memories on our editing screens. ✨ T&E's adventure elopement has been on our minds recently as we work through this stunning gallery ... reminders of a day where these two lovers scrambled high above glaciers, lingered in the sunset, and danced under the northern lights for their wedding day. Banff: forever the most stunning place to say "I do" ✨🏔️

Proof that you don't need a big wedding in order to have a cake ✨ These two wanted to include a wedding cake in their big day - and because you can do *anything* on an adventure elopement - we made it happen. They enjoyed an adorable His & Her's elopement cake on the shores of a bright blue mountain lake, before an epic hike-of-a-lifetime. Fuelled by the most delicious cake from @whipptkitchen , we then hiked over 25km through some incredible ridges and valleys in Banff National Park, making it to the top just in time for some sunset vows and glacier views. 🏔️ A perfect day spent celebrating love in the Canadian Rockies! 💍

Sweet I-Dos beneath the moon and Milky Way. 🌙✨ Kelly & Grayson said their vows as the moon crept above the peaks during blue hour, high atop a peak nestled in the Canadian Rockies (more photos of that soon). On our descent, as the light faded, the stars came out to play. With it being early August, the Perseid meteor showers were also dancing through the sky - every minute or so we'd see a bright shooting star and tens more small ones. We couldn't think of a more perfect way to end an adventure wedding day, than cuddled under the stars and admiring this big beautiful universe. ✨ Who else thinks the same?

Something a little different than our usual adventure elopements and weddings.... : a stunning wildflower adventure maternity session in Banff National Park. ✨🌸 If you didn't think maternity photos could meet whimsical, wild mountain photos - think again. Keiley & Paul flew all the way from Colorado and captured these memories - celebrating their growing family and soon to be little one - in the Canadian Rockies. 🏔️ They rolled in the wildflowers, frolicked barefoot in the river, and cuddled under a blanket as the evening breeze rolled through. You don't always need a long hike and sweaty adventure in order to capture the incredible scenery here - sometimes the short, field-on-the-side-of-a-road spots are equally as captivating. Cheers to you two, K&P, we're so excited for your little bundle of joy to come along! 🤍

This sunset was absolute proof that the weather changes every 20 minutes in the Rockies. ✨ As C&J began hiking for their adventure wedding, some unforecasted clouds rolled in, covering the sun and chasing away the glowy sunset we'd anticipated. The clouds lingered and grew - until a sudden wind spell rolled through, nearly taking us off the ridgeline (even stealing Cassie's veil right out of her hair!). But, the wind also cleared the clouds just enough to let the sun peek through... Cue these magical sunset wedding photos, just before the sun dipped below the mountain peaks. ✨ We couldn't have imagined a better end-of-day surprise for these two's hiking elopement portraits. 🥾

Our hot take on the ONE thing you shouldn't do on your wedding day... Try to make other people happy instead of yourselves. Because the thing is: we've seen all sorts of weddings days, from traditional weddings to backcountry heli elopements, to picnics under fairy lights, and short + sweet elopements beneath a solitary peak... And the couples who reflect on their wedding day the most positively are by far those who followed their own hearts planning their wedding or elopement! Sound a bit cheesy and love-fluffy? Well, it IS a wedding day after all. ✨ And for all the people saying: "you're a host and you should be respectful and thoughtful" Of course. But if there's an event, or an outfit, or decor, or anything else, that's making you feel uneasy and has made it's way into your timeline: THIS is your sign not do it, and replace it with something you love instead. 🤍

It's been a bit of a funny spring in the Canadian Rockies this year... 🏔️ Winter is holding on long not just in the alpine, but also below the treeline. Don't get us wrong: we're used to working with Mother Nature's plans and magical photos can be captured in ANY season. But, our summers are short out in Banff National Park! So, as we drove by this lake this week and saw the bright blue water peeking out to say hello from beneath the ice, we got a liiittle giddy... Not long until we can get Cedar (the cedar canoe) back out for adventure elopements and wedding portraits like this. ✨
