Social media is fun. Itās where you see the eye catching, stylized, creative clips that make you stop scrolling, but letās be honest. No one hires a videographer for a 60 second teaser. You hire them to tell the whole story.
Over the last couple of years, more than half of our couples have asked us to capture everything. The full weekend. The welcome party. The late night hangs. The rehearsal dinner. The slow morning coffee before it all begins. The brunch the day after. All the little in between moments that make the wedding feel like theirs.
We are seeing a shift. Couples donāt JUST want a highlight reel that could belong to anyone. They want something deeper. Honest. A creative documentary film that feels like them. Not just a recap, but the full heart and soul of the weekend.
When we shoot for multiple days, we treat each day like a chapter of the full story, because when it is all said and done, not every couple wants a bunch of staged portrait session shots over their vows. They want to remember it all.

LETāS TALK TRANSITIONS š„š»
Transitions in films are less like sprinkles on a cake and more like the off ramps on a highway. They donāt last long (and probably shouldnāt lol), but the better they are, the smoother youāll be taken from one scene to another in a film. Hereās a little glimpse into our journey with transitions in editing (and even shooting, too):
When we first started integrating transitions into our films, weād really just find some ācamera movementā effects or an overlay and add them in post; and for the most part, that was all well and good for a while. It wasnāt Spielberg or Kubrick, but it got the job done. The more we filmed and took inspiration from others, though, the more we started to notice opportunities WHILE we were shooting to create what we later learned are called āin-camera transitionsā, meaning you set up the first half of a transition shot in one moment, and then film the other half of that transition shot later with the intention to stitch the two shots together for a complete shot sequence in post.
We started to see the way we filmed differently. We started to shoot with the edit in mind, and that alone has improved SO much about our priorities for the moments we capture, the sounds we record, and the shots we take. If we filmed with a purpose, every shot would have one, too.
Transitions also add a sense of artistic flair and unique touch to our films, and we honestly just love a good, clever editing sequence lol.
Of course a great film is always built on a solid foundation of stories, technique, and a little bit of āright place, right timeā kind of moments. But like all moments, how you get there is just as important as where youāre going.
