Heya! I'm starting something on the side (again lol).
After 20+ years in digital and a few years building AI products as a tech lead, I keep running into the same question: are we making the same mistakes with AI that we made with the early web?
So I'm building aithics - a space to explore AI ethics through real dilemmas, not academic theory.
It's early. If this sounds interesting, give the website a visit - more coming soon.

Finally covered "Love in Slow Motion" by Electric Youth - @electricyouthofficial - from their underestimated 'North of Normal' soundtrack.
This track, along with the other 2 vocal tracks from the OST leave an imprint of me that I love to revisit and make sure it's still there. Love in Slow Motion is a perfect introspection track that I listen to after interacting with humans, especially family and anyone I have a complicated relationship with that requires care, patience and space.
My new Substack post on Pluribus and the need for popular sociology is live (link in bio).
Popular psychology flourished because it fit the needs of a market-driven culture. Popular sociology will flourish only when we decide that understanding the social - the forces that bind and constrain us - is worth attention, debate, and investment. Pluribus, for all its flaws, points toward what’s possible: a mainstream culture that treats the collective not as background scenery but as a protagonist. If we want a healthier public imagination, we should make room for that protagonist to speak.
I suppose one of the main reasons I've never monetized or coached others in being a consultant and freelancer in the 13 years of being one is that, anyone who purports to be able to coach you in such an inherently uncertain path in life, without leading with that and admitting that any advice, system and idea of permanence is impossible to guarantee to be applicable 5 min from now, is suspicious at best.
I've seen many 'self-employed' experts come, take the stage, position themselves as an expert. Usually it's just someone co-opting that 'entrepreneur' persona like drag (be my guest), while acting from a place of different kind of underlying stability and essentially not being driven the same way as consultants who are just that are. 9/10 just vanish after they had their turn. 🤷🏼♂️
She’s not a princess, not a superhero, not a mascot. She’s a trickster, a chaos agent. And chaos doesn’t sell well in a world of tightly controlled intellectual property. Read my new post on the disappearance of Pippi Longstocking from pop culture in the last 20 or so years. Link in bio
