🔴 Exceptional sculptural and zoomorphic bowl by Isabelle Ferlay, circa 1951-1953.
This bowl, which recalls the work of Valentine Schlegel, was most likely produced in the rue Vavin studio in Paris, shared by Valentine Schlegel and Frédérique Bourguet until 1951. Isabelle Ferlay was working there at the time as a thrower, prior to their move to Vallauris in 1953.
Chamotted terracotta, hand-built using slab techniques and finished with a thick slip, creating a remarkable volcanic and mineral texture.
Unique piece.
Signed under the base “Is.F Les Argonautes”.
