It’s the crunch at the end for me 😂🥐
But also… this kitchen perfectly shows why hidden storage has become one of the most requested features in modern kitchen renovations.
Behind what looks like a simple cabinetry wall is:
✔ an integrated fridge
✔ hidden freezer storage
✔ a concealed coffee station
✔ functional everyday storage designed around real life
Because the goal wasn’t just creating a beautiful kitchen.
It was creating a kitchen that could handle busy mornings, family gatherings, countertop appliances, snacks, coffee routines, and all the little bits of life… without constantly feeling cluttered.
Honestly, one of the biggest shifts I’m seeing in kitchen design right now is homeowners wanting spaces that feel calmer and more intentional.
Not sterile.
Not ultra minimalist.
Just thoughtful enough that the visual noise quietly disappears.
And details like integrated appliances and hidden storage make a huge difference in how a kitchen feels day to day.

Sometimes the most complicated design details are the ones you barely notice… and that’s exactly the point. 👀
This “hidden” pantry door was one of the details we meticulously reviewed during both the design and construction phase to make sure it read as one continuous cabinetry wall instead of feeling like an afterthought.
Because when you’re designing a contemporary kitchen, the little alignment details matter:
✔ consistent panel sizing
✔ hardware placement
✔ reveal spacing
✔ grain direction
✔ how the door operates within the millwork composition
The goal wasn’t just to hide a pantry.
It was to create a kitchen that felt calm, intentional, and visually uninterrupted while still functioning beautifully for everyday life.
And some exciting news… this kitchen was recently announced as a NKBA Designer Excellence Award finalist. A really special recognition for a project that involved so many thoughtful details behind the scenes.
One of my favourite parts of this project is that most people would never realize how much coordination went into making this look “simple.” That’s usually how good design works. 🙂
If you’re planning a kitchen renovation and feeling overwhelmed by all the moving pieces, this is exactly why detailed pre-construction planning matters.

Why we picked these specific tiles👇
Some bathroom designs start with a tile selection…
This one started with a feeling.
The clients told me they loved the idea of being able to take a bath under the stars, so from the very beginning, we knew the skylight above the tub had to become the focal point of the entire space.
Every decision was made to support that moment.
The soft, beachy tile tones.
The way the tile wraps the room without feeling busy.
The warm lighting.
The clean lines that let the architecture do the talking instead of competing with it.
And honestly… this is why thoughtful planning matters so much in a renovation.
Sometimes the most impactful part of a design isn’t the “feature” itself. It’s designing the entire room in a way that supports how you want to feel when you’re in it.
In this case? Calm, cozy, and just a little bit like a boutique hotel at the end of a long day 🛁

We all love a good before & after 😍
This was the starting point: a small closed-in spice kitchen tucked behind a door, with just enough room for one person to move comfortably. The layout was tight, storage was limited, and every surface had to work overtime. It functioned but it didn’t really support real life.
So we reimagined it from the ground up.
By opening the layout and designing with intention, we created a space that flows effortlessly and adds a spice of personality with a fun tile backsplash. We now have a focal bar area that flanks useful storage for this family that loves to entertain
A project like this doesn’t happen by accident 😉 It happens through thoughtful planning, collaboration, and getting the foundation right from the start. #interiordesign

What you don’t see in a before & after is everything that could have gone wrong 👀
This kitchen transformation looks effortless now, but behind the scenes, every inch was intentional.
If you closely look at the “before” photos, you’ll see a space that wasn’t quite keeping up with real life. Layouts that almost worked. Storage that fell just short. A flow that made everyday moments feel a little harder than they needed to be.
This is where kitchens quietly go wrong when decisions are rushed instead of thought through.
So we slowed it down.
We reconfigured where the main storage went and how we accessed the appliances, while designing the island to become the anchor of the home. It’s now a space where cooking, homework, quick breakfasts, and late-night conversations can all happen at once (without everyone bumping into each other).
But getting that right takes more than just adding an island. It meant thinking through how people actually move through the space… making sure the fridge didn’t interrupt the prep space, that seating felt connected but not in the way, and that storage supported real, everyday life without clutter creeping in. Things like positioning the dishwasher right across the island where we planned larger dish drawers so you can easily unload right into the correct drawer without even needing to move to the other side of the kitchen
Because when a kitchen becomes the heart of the home, it has to do a lot more than look good.
It has to hold everything that happens around it. It should feel just as good on a busy Tuesday morning as it does when everything is clean and quiet. And most of that comes down to the decisions made long before anything is built.

This is what happens when you stop rushing the process 😍
Here’s the before and after of our Spice of Life bathroom! What we love most about projects like this isn’t just picking pretty tiles, it’s thinking through every little decision so there are no surprises down the line.
We choose materials that last, specifically possitioned body sprays at heights that work for both partners and even catch the sneaky details (like floor registers and how to make them blend in vs stand out). We get into the nitty gritty details like how to finish exposed tile ends and what height your niche should be so it doubles as the perfect leg rest height for leg shaving. This is exactly why having a designer in your corner matters.

From the full wall of cabinets that include; a hidden walk-in, pantry, integrated appliances, a hidden coffee bar to the focal hoodfan and natural marble countertops, we are all so proud of how everything came together. #alwaysateameffort #kitchendesign
We just found out some exciting news!
One of our projects has been named a HAVAN Awards for housing excellence finalist in the category Best Bathroom Reno: 50sqft and over. 🎉
We just shared the news with the homeowners and couldn't be more excited.
Every corner of this home was reimagined to bring bold, layered design and unexpected moments of function. ✨
Kitchen → A once-tired space transformed into a modern hub, complete with a fully concealed walk-in pantry, hidden coffee bar, integrated appliances, and custom pull-outs. Every detail is designed to make daily life feel effortless.
Ensuite → Spa-like finishes, reeded vanity doors, arched details, and curved fixtures create a retreat that feels as good as it looks. (Yes, even the shower niche was designed with comfort in mind.- The botton shelf perfectly possitioned for leg shaving height.)
Fireplace → A soaring two-story statement wrapped in large-format tile. With displacement ventilation, we lowered the TV without compromising comfort, proof that beauty and function can coexist.
This is what happens when thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship, and the right details come together.
