I am feeling the love from my barista.
I have been coming to this in cafe now for a coffee on a regular basis for over two years now a type of friendship has developed ( as much as one can in the minutes you have with your coffee maker) I do not know her name yet I call her “smudge” , one morning she had a smudge on her face I told her she thanked me and Removed it, the next morning I just called her smudge , she smiled and asked the usual ( I then also apologized for calling her this name, a reply along the lines of please I love it can I use it myself, Smudge now tells me her boyfriend and friends call her by this nickname)
Anyway back to the picture, one morning I arrived a customer in front of me I could not over hear exactly what was being said yet you could tell it was making Smudge very uncomfortable and she was at that point of being on the verge of letting tears flow.
I was acknowledged by smudge then the customer turned to look at me the look I was given, I was a little taken back and shocked.
As I moved closer to the counter smudge was just holding it together, I just felt so much for her that I asked if I could touch her and give her a hug, it was well received and only brief but enough to put a smile back on a face.
I said instead of writing thank you and drawing a little heart on the kids you should have a couple that say F##k off for people like that.
This all happened in the time smudge made my coffee, so when I received my coffee said my thank you and wished her a much better day I looked down to see what had been written big smiles from both of us with a small shout please do not tell my boss I wrote that on your lid. In short people it is only a coffee, the people making it are only getting minimal wage and in current times done only very minimal hours of work, be kind, be appreciative that people are will to work in the service industry, and remember they are not here to take your abuse because you are having a bad day. #coffee #coffeelover #nova @nova937
