I feel like sometimes the world demands a spectacle out of us. And that sense has us feeling that we have to be more just to be seen, which is what makes Be More Chill feel so real to me. Especially for how terrifying it can be to feel like you don’t matter.
Playing Jeremy Heere made me sit with that, and it gave me something I don’t think I expected.
He helped me recognize that it’s okay to be vulnerable. Sometimes, we’re going to sit through awkward pauses, and we’re going to say the wrong things, and we’re going to live in discomfort and have to face truths we don’t want to face.
But in the end, none of that is anything we need to fix. It’s what makes us worth seeing in the first place.
I’ll be carrying this story with me for a very long time.
