So excited to be featured in the Spring Issue of @boardmanreview
“Between Two Countrysides” is a story I had the opportunity to photograph and write on @houseonhorizon , a piece rooted in craftsmanship, place, and the idea that not everything should be replaced and mass-produced simply because it can be.
Sharing a preview here, and can’t wait to get the issue in hand soon to share more!

A closer look at a recent menu content session for one of our restaurant clients. 🍽️
One of our favorite parts of hospitality shoots? Documenting more than just the dishes. The atmosphere, cocktails, textures, lighting, and in-between moments are what make a space feel alive.
Because when people choose a restaurant, they’re choosing an experience. The energy of the room, the presentation, the drinks, the ambiance, and the feeling they get before they even sit down.
Great hospitality content tells the full story of a space and gives guests a sense of what it feels like to actually be there, before they ever walk through the door.

Your content should be doing more than just filling space.
It should reflect the level your business is operating at.
It should support your growth.
It should connect with the right people in a way that feels clear and natural.
And if it’s not right now, that’s okay.
Most businesses hit a point where their content hasn’t quite caught up to the level of their work yet. It’s a normal part of growing.
Because the right strategy doesn’t just look good, it works for you.
It creates clarity.
It builds trust.
It helps people understand and choose YOU.
If your content isn’t supporting your growth or reflecting your business as it truly is, it might just be time for a shift in approach.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Hold please… building a mini jungle 🌿
Sometimes it’s not just about the dish.
Sometimes it’s about carrying a full monstera across the restaurant for the right pop of green.
Because the details around it matter just as much as what’s on the plate.

Not everything I do for my business looks like work.
Some of it looks like cleaning the studio, picking up tulips from Trader Joe’s, and letting things slow down for a minute 🌷
But this is where I reset, where the next week starts to take shape.
A small ritual,
a little peace,
and permission to pause.

Warm weather, finally.
Even with the rain today, we’re feeling spring in full color.
A quick behind-the-scenes of another food styling moment, playing with a little grid, a little Tetris, and all the fresh textures and colors of the season. 🍉🌿

What you see vs. what actually goes into it.
It’s never just the sandwich.
It’s the layers, the movement, the small adjustments that bring it all together.
This is food styling.

There’s a certain kind of spring day that doesn’t ask for much.
Just a table pulled into the grass, vintage glasses from your grandmother, something fresh, something sweet, and time that isn’t rushed.
Looking forward to afternoons like this.

Before someone ever walks through your doors, they’ve already formed an opinion.
They’re scrolling, looking at your space, your experience, your atmosphere, your aesthetic, deciding if it feels worth their time, attention, and money.
Lately, we’ve been seeing more AI-generated imagery used across restaurants and hospitality brands. And we get it, sometimes it feels like the easier or more affordable route.
And don’t get us wrong, AI is a beautiful tool.
But what matters most is this, what people see online should reflect what they experience in person.
When there’s a gap between the two, when something feels off or doesn’t quite match, it creates a disconnect. And that disconnect impacts how people perceive your brand.
Your visuals aren’t just content to fill your feed.
They’re your first impression.
They shape perception, and perception defines value.
In a space where everything can start to look the same, the brands that stand out are the ones that feel real, clear in who they are and consistent in how they show up.
Creativity gets attention.
Honesty and authenticity build trust. 🤍

In our Spring Issue, @fieldstone_creative tells the story of a design studio @houseonhorizon and how they are bridging rural England and Northern Michigan through antique sourcing and restoration, revealing how craftsmanship, stewardship, and continuity can create a shared sense of home between two countrysides.
To read more of the story behind the design studio House on Horizon, make sure to secure a print subscription today at our shop link in our bio! Below is an excerpt from the story:
“The idea for their business came, unexpectedly, in the quiet space of time that follows a long trip with loved ones. Returning from England one evening, exhausted and without groceries at home, they took their children out for a quick meal at Taco Bell. When one of the boys spilled his drink, Sam quickly lost his patience, and his irritated reaction didn’t quite match the moment; it was obvious something else was weighing on him.
When Liv asked what was really wrong, the answer was simple.
He was homesick.
And so, that night, on the back of a Taco Bell napkin, they began sketching out the beginnings of a business plan and a lifestyle structure that might bring two horizons together into one shared sense of home.”
Recent brand imagery for Western Market, a gourmet grocery store in downtown Ferndale.
Rooted in quality, community, and craftsmanship, every detail is thoughtfully considered. From curated ingredients to a standout butcher counter and specialty offerings, it reflects a more intentional way of shopping.
