Join us Saturday September 13th for our 5th annual Drag n Tag fundraiser 🌈🦈 This one-of-a-kind event includes a day of shark research hosted by the incredible @themisstoto . Participants will get to observe and be involved in shark tagging under the supervision of Field School scientists and staff while enjoying drag shows by @themisstoto and other local queens!
Donations and ticket purchases for the event can be found in the link in our bio. All proceeds will be donated to @pridelines - an LGBTQ+ community center and support program based right here in Miami, FL (learn more: /).

Over the course of 3 weeks, we caught, sampled, and released close to 100 sharks 🤯 We are forever grateful for the hard work all of our colleagues, interns, students, and guests have put in to our research and education program over the years. It was a blast on early spring to have the once in a lifetime opportunity to bring students from @browardcollegeenviroscience to the field and be a part of a campaign of shark tagging.
@field_school and @sharktagging teams were a professional and nice crew that tended to their duties at sea while interacted with our students.
The students could learn more about the information taken from the sharks, its utility in research and how the health of this predators is a mirror of the health of the waters of South Florida.
And who knows, maybe one day one of them would become a shark scientist as well!!
Thank you to all the parts and pieces that made this trip a reality and, more importantly, that educated on conservation. Special thanks to the Field School and SRC director @drcatmac for continuing inspiring and educating.
