Proposal for a novel typology which combines affordable housing with a recreational sports facility. Developed for the Small Center in partnership with a New Orleans-based nonprofit that provides sports programming and workforce development.
The (nearly) finished pavilion, designed and built by 9 students in last semester’s research studio. In partnership with the Growing Local Collaborative, this is the first step in the development of a food hub— farmer’s market, commissary kitchen, cold storage for farmers, and an urban farm— in the Central City neighborhood of New Orleans. Cotaught with Emilie Taylor Welty at the Small Center for Collaborative Design.
