Good morning, good evening, and goodnight? I wonder how social media would play into the Truman Show universe. Hah. A man unknowingly broadcasted 24/7 vs. people who are broadcasting a version of themselves (willingly) 24/7. Someone write a Substack about this—maybe it should be me. Anyhow, I’ve been digging in boxes and pulling out some old things and that landed me on @recovertx today. I will forever love these guys, and I think you will, too. Give the EP (Ceci N’est Pas Recover) a spin today and think of 2003.
Name Taken x Hold On x 20 Year Anniversary Edition - TEST PRESSINGS !! These LPs are gorgeous in person, crafted and assembled by hand (by me) and every one of them is different. The glitches in the artwork mirror the glitches in the new video for “Hold On For Your Dearest Life”. I love them. I wish I could make art like this every day, but I think that’s what makes moments like these that much more special. Thank you to my friends at @brooklynvegan and @altpress for helping realize this dream.
NAME TAKEN *Hold On* TWENTY YEAR ANNIVERSARY VINYL pre-order is live now!! I am coming to grips with the double decade nostalgia that is the present tense and all I can say while I spend my time writing and living and working on projects like this and all I have is gratitude for the work that we all did.
Thank you to Chad, Blake, and Ryan for giving this adventure your blessing. Thank you to Chris Kopinto for laboring over the negative scanning and restoration so that Erik Rojas could breathe new life into these photographs. Thank you RJ Shaughnessy for creating these wonderful images so that they could exist in this universe. Thank you to Beau Burchell and Rory Phillips for helping this band sound out of this world. And thank you to all of you for being on this ride with all of us for this long. It’s not a phase, promise. LINK IN STORIES and BIO!!
Please hold your breath, you know how long. But for real, cotton, plastic, and vinyl are flying through the air to a new destination. Please sit tight while we moooove.

Recover’s Ceci N’est Pas Recover was released 23 years ago today. This EP was released in a time long before album anniversaries were celebrated—this is probably because no one had lasted in our scene for decades prior to us, even in a celebratory sense—so there was no one to count the single or even double digit birthdays. This is also because a good lot of us just figured we were doing what we were doing and inevitably at some point we’d just drop dead.
It’s nice to remember the times we had—it lets you know you existed—beyond a corporeal sense even. I took these photos while the band was recording at Brian McTernan’s house. I didn’t realize that the studio went quiet, and I suddenly realized the band was no longer in the room with me. I went outside and I saw the guys putting a ladder on top of their van to get the highest swing imaginable—they were daredevils—though and through. These photos are just a glimpse of what my book will be like… I’m ready to start teasing images out, so let’s go. It’ll be October in like a week. Pre-order link is in my bio, and vinyl is still for sale up in the Fiddler Store. ❤️
