I had the opportunity to create a mural on the east facing wall of the best bike shop in the Bay Area. Fast bicycle has been around since the 70’s and I’ve been going there since I was a kid. For this mural I wanted to pay homage to the shop and the area, so I designed a topographical map of Alum Rock Park while highlighting the bike trails within the terrain. There aren’t many people that look like us where we’re from. So as kids we stuck together. There was a time we would watch skate videos then go to the skatepark everyday. You were my best friend man. Although we took separate paths in life every time I would see you it was always love. This is a tough loss. Till we meet again Jameal.
