Mallala is getting ready for "Homecoming" along with the 2025 Australian Formula Ford 1600 Nationals. It's going to be a big week and a half of motorsport for South Australia. Beginning at Mallala on Wednesday Nov 19 with crews starting to arrive ahead of Thursday general practice, then sees Friday night start the on-stage performances as day two of track action continues into the twilight. On-stage performances continue throughout Saturday the 22nd, our Nationals day, along with show 'n' shine displays and Hi-Tec Oils drifting demonstrations and more, with the winner-takes-all Final for AFF1600NATS being the highlight and final race of the FF1600 season for 2025. Joining the race track program at Homecoming are Trico Trans Am in their penultimate round, the Formula RX8 one-make production cars, and the South Australian Supersports prototype sports cars. Attention then turns to the heart of Adelaide and the Parklands where NAPA Speedway will be constructed ready to start action on Wednesday the 26th. Lovers of some circle work will find things in full swing from 5:45pm each evening from Wednesday to Friday. Meanwhile on the Parklands Circuit street course, built up for the Supercars Final, Trico Trans Am fresh from Homecoming will be the first ones on track on Thursday 27th while Aussie Racing Cars, Carrera Cup and Super2 complete the support program for the first ever Supercars Grand Final. Joining the party on Friday in their own stadium is the BOOST MOBILE AUSX Supercross Grand Final, running through to Sunday. Lenny Kravitz takes the stage on Saturday supported by Jet, and then on Sunday November 30th after the Supercars Championship is decided the evening concert warms up with Amyl and the Sniffers followed by, introduction not needed, AC/DC. Be part of the AFF1600NATS action at Mallala Homecoming; email [email protected] with expressions of interest and any event detail requests.

Anglo have a fleet of Spirit and Van Diemen Formula Ford 1600's available for the Australian Formula Ford 1600 Nationals this year along with their regular State Championship activities. Last year the Spirits were piloted in the AFF1600NATS by AJ Gealy who is now racing National Duratec with Anglo, and Liam Loiacono who has moved on to a USF Juniors program in the USA after his time in Formula Fords. Both drivers were at the front of the battle, with Liam in particular taking the fight up to the mighty West Aussies, the Vic-Qld travelling Andrew Torti, and the balance of the field of 19. Get in touch with the Sydney-based Anglo Motorsport for more information on how to arrive and drive at this years Nationals as they and many other FF1600 crews head to Mallala Motorsport Park for the Homecoming event, supporting the Trico Trans Am series the weekend before the Supercars Grand Final charges through the Adelaide Parklands. If you feel the need to brush up on your FF1600 craft beforehand there are more State Championship events between now and November as well. Come Thursday 20th November to Saturday 22nd of November the Mallala complex will once again be filled with the sounds of Kent engines at full noise and a field of FF1600s the likes of which haven't been seen there for a couple of decades. Don't miss out, be part of the action! Do you have an arrive and drive package available for the Nationals too? Be sure to send the details to [email protected]

Expressions of interest are open for this year’s AFF1600NATS as the event redoubles efforts and builds on a successful 2024: 150 days and counting down to the event of the year for our Formula Ford 1600 crews, supporters, suppliers and fans of the Kent-powered Yokohama-shod State Championship racers. Once a year the FF1600 cars gather from across the nation at a new destination to do the Nationals, and this year we are joining The Bend and Hi-Tec Oils in the launch of Mallala Homecoming as national racing returns to the South Australian track in a big way. The fun isn’t restricted to the 1st Category FF1600’s either, as all 5th Category Historic Group F Formula Fords are eligible for the event too. These cars, needing to conform to the details of a Certificate of Description locking them down to a period correct presentation and technical spec, run lower minimum weights than FF1600 and in the right hands around Mallala could spring a surprise or two. After kicking off in Victoria with little fanfare, the Nationals next arrived in Queensland for the 2024 edition with plenty of promotion and a 19 car all-FF1600 field with drivers from Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland taking part. Historics were eligible but sadly none entered. This year for Mallala a healthy portion of the 2024 field plus some recent additions to the FF1600 ranks will make the trek to this historic racetrack and they would love to be joined by some Victorians and South Australians along with some historic racers to not just break the 20-car barrier but knock it out of the park as FF1600 racing gets itself some front a centre coverage and drivers enjoy a mega event all at the same time! Round 1 Focus Driver Performance Hard Charger Award winner - Jamie Rowe What a difference four hours makes! After a specatular incident saw the #48 Fabcon Spectrum upside down in the gravel in Race 2, Jamie and his team put in an incredible amount of work to repair the car with barely a minute to spare for Race 3. Starting from the back of a 20-car grid, he crossed the line 13 laps later to finish in NINTH 🤯 You'll struggle to find a more deserving winner of 2025's first Focus Driver Performance Hard Charger Award! Thanks to @focusdriverau , Hard Charger winners will receive a two-hour training session, including a one-hour simulator session and a cognitive development session. Congratulations Jamie! 👏 📸 Phil Wisewould #WhereChampionsAreMade

🎤 Kobi Williams: "Good start to the year! Pretty tricky conditions out there, so I just maximized as much as I could, and came out with pole. "We're definitely hoping to win the championship. We just fell short last year, and we're pretty confident the car's gonna be just as fast." #WhereChampionsAreMade
