Announcing 2026 Signature Programme Co-curator Kwasi Obeng-Adjei!🌟 Kwasi has been working closely with FFDN Artistic Director Robert Binet to curate a programme that will make you fall in love with dance all over again. 🤍 “As Co-Curator at FFDN this year, what I hope to accomplish is fostering a space of community, inclusivity, and creating an environment where people from all backgrounds and walks of life feel welcomed, valued, and inspired to connect through a shared love of dance and creativity. I believe that when individuals feel seen and supported, we are able to build deeper, more meaningful, and long-lasting connections.” - Kwasi Obeng-Adjei More about Kwasi: A Brampton-based multidisciplinary artist, emerging choreographer, and dance educator whose practice is rooted in traditional African forms and African street dance. With over a decade of experience in the dance community, Kwasi has built an impressive performance and creative resume, including appearances with the Pan Am Games, Giants of Africa Gala, Raptors Halftime Show, Asake Canadian Tour, AfroFest, Luminato Festival, Kultureland Festival, and many more. Kwasi’s choreographic journey expanded in 2023 when he presented an original work at Night Shift, produced by Citadel + Compagnie and co-presented with Fall for Dance North. Drawing on a free-form, exploratory approach, his work is driven by connection, cultural lineage, and curiosity. In 2025, Kwasi presented Echoes of the Same Tree in collaboration with Nigerian-based artist Ambrose Tjark as part of Homegrown Signature 2 programming for Fall for Dance North, marking a significant milestone in his artistic development. Happy International Dance Day! 💃🩰🤸🏼‍♀️🙆🕺🎉 Celebrating dance is at the heart of what we do at Fall for Dance North. Every year, our festival invites you into an intergenerational, intercultural celebration of movement that truly brings down the house. None of this happens alone—it takes diverse partnerships with dance organizations, presenters, curatorial voices, venues, arts service organizations, and educational institutions. And above all, it happens because we let artists lead: curators, choreographers, scholars, creators, and dancers who ask us—and you—to rethink what dance can be. We nurture those artists by commissioning original work, putting local and international artists on the same program, and building year-round residencies and mentorships. Because our work doesn’t stop when the festival ends. Through international connections and professional development, we help amplify Canadian talent globally. And through the festival itself, we help grow audiences for professional dance all year long. Together, we strengthen, enrich, and celebrate the vibrant dance ecology of Toronto and of Canada.🇨🇦 So today, we celebrate dance the way we always do: together, accessibly, bravely, and with deep respect for the artists who make it all possible.🥳💐✨🪩👏
