It’s Toad’s 9th (est.) birthday today and coming up to 5 years since I rescued her 🥹 Her original shelter name was ‘nosey cat’ and honestly she lives up to that name 100%, but I jusr had to deed poll it hahah. I rescued her during a really dark time in my life when I didn’t realise I desperately needed her companionship. She has seen me through some really big changes in the past few years and it’d be weird to imagine not having her around
Hoping for 9+ more years of shoe sniffing, ankle biting, snoozy bread making sessions, and stealing food off plates 💘💘
🍎 🐜 🍎 🐜I’ve been clearing out my wardrobe and deciding what I actually want to wear, donating/selling what no longer does anything for me. In the process I’ve been inspired and upcycled this not quite gingham shirt. I saw a creative produce a similar look inspired by ‘picnic’ and given spring is in full swing I thought I’d give it a go.
I firstly cropped the shirt because it was far too long, as men’s stuff usually is. I’m going to leave it unhemmed because the fraying fits with the style.
Fixed a rip with stuffed patchwork on the shoulder.
Ants ++++++ and some apple buttons I bought for a knitting project that never came to fruition (lol pun). I actually started adding legs to the ants but quickly gave up, as it made them look less realistic and was very hard to make the legs all consistent sizes.
Super happy with this as it’s now wearable and far more interesting yayyyy 🍎 🐜 🍎 🐜
