For a long time I have been a certified singer songwriter, apart from being the frontman of a famous metal band. Writing always came naturally to me. Composing a little less so, though I did more than my fair share in the early days.
What has been truly exciting is returning to that space after all these years. @ferzad and I realised something important. After a couple of years of playing covers and shaping versions for #FridaysAtUniversal the way we wanted, we had drifted away from our first love, which is writing our own material.
What has surprised me is that the instinct is still very much alive. The songs are coming. The words are coming. And not just lightly, but with intensity. Deeply emotional, sometimes searing, occasionally uncomfortable. Drawn from places that are not always easy to revisit. And yet it feels honest. It feels necessary. It feels good.
We have started the process again. This will not be metal. It will be music we genuinely love, shaped by the sounds and themes that matter to us now.
More soon. This is going to be interesting.
Over the years @antisocialoffline has seen some incredible moments in Indian music but what happened yesterday has to be in the top 3
What was meant to be a merch drop and a super fan meet and greet turned into a seminal moment. @yungblud stormed into antisocial for the very first time rushed on to stage and in less than 10 second threw himself into the crowd to crowd surf, came back on burst into this super intense high energy performance climbed all over the place and possibly hugged and kissed everyone of the 700 people present there.
His fearlessness and absolute ferocity and mad love and passion with which he did everything was seminal and very inspiring.
Rock n Roll ain’t dead, it’s alive and well in this force of nature. Thank you for the magic @universalmusicindia@fansocial@socialoffline@yungblud@antisocialoffline@devsanyal@viraljani@drishtibathija_@sanujeetb@ferzad@michjagger.eth@agg24divya@sarasshah
