Amy Ferris is an author, a writer, a screenwriter, an editor and a playwright. Her memoir, Marrying George Clooney, Confessions From a Midlife Crisis (Seal Press) was adapted into an Off-Broadway play in 2012. Amy has written for both the small screen (TV) and the big screen (Feature Films). As a screenwriter, she co-wrote Mr. Wonderful(Director, Anthony Minghella) and was nominated for a Best Screenplay Award (BET, Black Reel Award) for her adaptation of the film, Funny Valentines (Director, Julie Dash) As an editor, she curated Shades of Blue, Writers on Depression, Suicide and Feeling Blue (Seal Press), and co-edited the anthology, Dancing at the Shame Prom (Seal Press). She co-authored Old School Love (HarperCollins, 2020) with Rev Run of RUN DMC fame. Amy serves on a variety of advisory boards supporting women and the Arts. She co-founded The Milford Readers & Writers Festival, and is on faculty at The Kauai Writer’s Conference.
Her memoir, Mighty Gorgeous - A Little Book About Messy Love, was published Fall 2023 (SheWritesPress).
Her new book, Amy In Retrograde, was published March 2026 by Glitterati Publishers.

I just read the delightful book by Amy Ferris, “Amy in Retrograde: Desperately Seeking Rewiring”. (@ferris_a )
If you follow her writing (her Facebook posts are epic), you’ll recognize her voice immediately and the realness she brings to every story.
This book could be about so many of us who are searching for ourselves while looking outward for the knowingness that already lives within. Amy reminds us that we are special just as we are, especially if you’re wacky and big-hearted.
I especially loved the imagery throughout the book, which made me chuckle out loud so many times.
Do yourself a favor: buy this book and send a few copies to friends. We all need to be reminded of our glorious messiness and amazing power.

Amy Ferris ( @ferris_a ) will return to the Noon Miracle classroom on May 26th! She and Kate Jackson will be joining forces for their new workshop series Grieving Out Loud. The series will explore the ways we stifle grief, giving us all an outlet for pure, honest expression and release in return.
Sessions will be held weekly, every Tuesday night at 5:30pm PT, 8:30pm ET.
