Saturday night spent right 🫶🏻
Using our Christmas voucher, we finally visited @ferncornwall and wow, it absolutely lived up to the hype.
With seasonal, local ingredients at the heart of every dish, each plate was a perfect balance of flavour, texture, and creativity.
A full sensory experience from start to finish.
Safe to say we’ll be back very soon 🤍

Fern Fried Chicken.
Crunchy, spicy, slightly ridiculous to eat politely.
The sort of thing that lands on the table and suddenly everyone’s reaching over with “just one bit”.
Cold pints, a few cocktails, good company and fried chicken that doesn’t hang around for long.
A little heads up before the weekend…
Fern will be closing for a short break after service on Sunday 17th May so the team can recharge for a few days before we reopen on Thursday 28th May.
So if you’ve been meaning to come in for lunch, dinner, a few drinks on the terrace or just a couple of snacks after a walk, this weekend’s a good time to do it.
We’ll see you before the break 🍷
You don’t always need a full lunch booking.
Sometimes it’s just a couple of drinks on the terrace, a few snacks for the table, or a slower afternoon after a walk along the Camel Trail.
OFFER: From Thursday to Saturday, enjoy £10 off your table when you spend over £50 at lunch.
Good food, drinks, and an excuse to stay a little longer.
Sometimes Fern is the destination.
Sometimes you spot the signs from the Camel Trail and decide to turn off and see what’s here.
Either way, it tends to work out quite well.
A few drinks on the terrace.
Something from the kitchen that ends up becoming a few more things for the table.
The afternoon stretching out a little longer than planned.
That’s the nice thing about being out here.
Open countryside around you, a slower pace for a few hours, and no real need to rush off anywhere.
Sun on the terrace.
A table full of plates.
A cold drink within reach.
That’s more the pace of things at the moment.
Long lunches out in the countryside, small plates to share, something from the bar, and nowhere else you need to be for a while.
If the weather holds, we’d recommend making the most of it.
Sundays are changing a little for the summer.
Our Sunday set menu has now finished for the season, and from this weekend onwards we’ll be serving our small plates and Chef’s Selection menu on Sundays instead.
A more relaxed way to spend the afternoon. A few plates for the table, something cold to drink, or take your time with the Chef’s Selection and settle in for a longer lunch.
The Sunday set menu will return again later in the year when autumn and winter roll back around.
For now though, Sundays look a little more like this.
Just off the Camel Trail. A small detour into the countryside, where you can stop for a drink, grab a bite, or settle in properly.
A table, something from the kitchen, and time to enjoy it.
No plans needed.
You’re out for a walk. Maybe along the Camel Trail, maybe just stretching your legs with the dog. No plans, no booking, just passing through.
Then you see our signs. So you wander in.
Start with a drink. A pint, something from the bar, whatever takes your fancy. Add a couple of snacks, maybe something small from the kitchen. Nothing too heavy, just enough to sit back for a bit and enjoy it.
It’s that kind of place. No need to make a whole thing of it. Just pop in, take a table, see where it goes.
One drink, a quick bite… or you stay a little longer.
More of what we’re about.
Our chef’s selection is £45 per person, with a menu that’s constantly changing depending on what’s coming through the kitchen.
It keeps things fresh, keeps us on our toes, and gives you something a little different each time you visit.
Take your time with it.
We’re thrilled to be finalists in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2026! ✨

We’re heading to @porthlevenfest this weekend.
Paul Welburn will be cooking two dishes from Fern:
Stout glazed short rib, bagna cauda, radish.
Gin cured Boscastle trout, cucumber, dill, lemon and tonic.
Two plates that reflect what we’re about. Good produce, handled carefully, nothing overworked.
Paul will also be on the demo stage at 2pm on Saturday with Mick Smith.
A little taste of Fern, taken out of the kitchen and down to the harbour.
If you’re there across the weekend, come and find us.
