German below --- İki Zeytin is a Cologne-based ensemble with Mira Dietl (Germany), Barış Can Avcı (Turkey), and for the first time joining them on stage, Fernando Lyra (Brazil/Portugal). The trio blends improvisation, delicate soundscapes, and a deep respect for the richness of traditional music, playing socially engaged, mainly Turkish folklore and original compositions with instruments such as Bağlama, Oud, Viola, Guitar, Clarinet, and different types of Percussion. Inspired by Alevi and Sufitraditions, their work reflects resistance, solidarity, and connection though the heart. On friday, 29th of May they invite you to let yourself drift on the shores of the Aegean Sea and breath the breeze filled with longing and joy. 18:30 entrance 19:00 concert Donations are welcome :) ---- İki Zeytin ist ein Ensemble aus Köln mit Mira Dietl (Deutschland), Barış Can Avcı (Türkei) und, zum ersten Mal gemeinsam auf der Bühne, Fernando Lyra (Brasilien/Portugal). Some songs are never just songs. They carry what could not be spoken openly: resistance, identity, and the longing for freedom. At the time it was written, in Rojava, even speaking the name Kurdistan was forbidden. In other parts of occupied Kurdistan, speaking Kurdish itself was criminalized. Under colonization and forced assimilation, language became dangerous, and love became coded. In Ay lê gule, written by Mihemed Şêxo, the love for Kurdistan is masked through the love for a woman. On the surface, it sounds like a love song. But beneath it lives something deeper: longing for homeland and freedom. Perhaps it is both at once. This is how oppressed peoples have always survived: by hiding truth in poetry, resistance in melody, and identity in metaphor. When your existence is politicized, even singing becomes an act of resistance. #kurdistan #rojava #berxwedan #resistance #ezidi

An old improvisation practice on Handpan ,Cajon and jingles to please the algorithmic entities 😒 I do hope the fellow humans also enjoy!
