This is what I’ve been working on for the past 5 years 🥺✨. I think 9 if you count since I first thought about it. And now that I’m almost finished (only a month left of revisions!), I want to tell you a bit about the journey. Just to clarify, the animation footage was made after the Netflix experience. I wanted to see these characters move so much that I directed it as an independent production, and it was made with an awesome team of freelance artists. Hopefully I’ll release the full teaser soon 👀 .The book will come out mid-2026✨! I think it’s too early to pre-order but if you’d really like to, you can find the link in my bio. 🏋️ ✨RAISE THE BAR - Synopsis: Sam Sanchez might not have a coach or proper equipment, but she’s going to become Chile’s first weightlifting gold medalist. She just knows it. When there’s an opportunity to train at the high-performance center with her weightlifting hero and Olympic gold medalist Eva Dos Santos... well, Sam can’t let that opportunity pass. Even if it means going behind her parents’ backs. As she makes friends (and a rival) during training and tries to qualify for the Pan American Games, she’ll find out how far hard work and perseverance can take her and just how much weight she’s able to hold. FINALLY 🎉🎉✨! 2025 was an important year.. My goals were simple: finish my graphic novel, slowly return to the animation industry, plant seeds for new projects, and become more visible again through teaching, speaking events, and project submissions. I wanted to stop feeling like my life was on pause because of the book. At some point it felt like a prison (mostly self-imposed). So, this year I stopped saying “After I finish the book I’ll...” and just started doing the things I’d been wanting to do while finishing the book. Looking back, I’m proud of the steps I took to stop feeling stuck. The book will be published on August 4th by @penguinkids in the US and @guppypublishing in the UK! When I start to feel like everything sucks, that’s my sign to take a walk. I know it’s cliche but it kinda works. I usually try to remind my coaching clients (and myself) that it’s difficult to be creative and stressed at the same time, so letting go and changing environments can really help. Just wanted to update and thank everyone who commisioned, shared, and supported me when I posted about my cat, Naito 🥺💖✨It really helped cover the expensive cost of hospitalization, food, meds etc and now he’s doing much better 😭 Sadly he has advanced chronic kidney disease so he’ll still need a lot of care but I’m just happy to spend as much time with him as possible. And Ivy too, as you can see in the last photo, she’s always following him around. It’s not urgent anymore but I’m still open for commissions if you’d like one 😌 Just DM or link in bio. — Queria actualizar y agradecerles a todos quienes me pidieron retratos, compartieron y me ayudaron cuando les conté sobre Naito 🥺💖✨ De verdad me ayudaron mucho a cubrir lo caro que fue hospitalizarlo, comida, veterinario, remedios etc y ahora esta mucho mejor. Lamentablemente igual tiene enfermedad renal avanzada entonces igual necesita harto cuidado pero por ahora simplemente estoy feliz de que he podido pasar mas tiempo con el. Y la Ivy también, porque como pueden ver en la ultima foto, siempre esta siguiéndolo. Ya no es urgente pero aún estoy tomando pedidos si quieren un retrato 😌 Pueden mandarme un DM o link en la bio.

Exclusive: After five years on the back burner, 'Here's the Plan' director Fernanda Frick has finally completed and released the teaser for 'Último Viaje' ('Last Journey'), a stop-motion project she began developing during the pandemic. Originally part of a larger pitching slate, the road-trip story follows two friends backpacking across rural Chile. It marks Frick’s return to animation after years focused on other projects, namely the graphic novel of 'Here's the Plan,' formerly a series developed for Netflix. We spoke with Frick about the long pause, making stop motion under lockdown, and why she’s rethinking what 'Last Journey' could ultimately become.
